We chose to move into these apartments because my boyfriend had lived here shortly before and really didn't have many problems. However, this time was much more different. I felt like we were always complaining to the management about problem after problem. First, parking is a serious problem for the area we lived in. After about 9:00 pm, you will be lucky to find a parking spot close to your building. The community is not very well lit and our area had a lot of men who would stand outside at all hours of the day. I frequently had problems with men following me and calling out crude, inappropriate comments towards me. I reported this to the management who said they were aware of the problem and were trying to take care of it. I saw no improvement for several weeks. When finally I thought things had gotten better in that area, I began seeing different men standing around outside again at all hours of the day. Sometimes they would even be blocking parking spots or hanging around or on your car even when you try to back up. I never felt safe here and always requested that my boyfriend or one of his friends escort me outside if it was dark. <br>We also had several problems with flooding. I realize that it rains a lot in Houston, but the sidewalks to our apartment (from either side) would be completely flooded with about 4-5 inches of water/dirt. I tried walking on the grass but ended up mostly in mud. I have ruined many shoes attempting to walk to my own apartment. We rarely had problems with our interior except for our toilet clogging and overflowing due to the fact that the toilet is ancient and extremely disgusting. Our air-condition bills were also much too high for an efficiency apartment and it was due to the fact that the units were old and needed replacing. We did constantly have trouble with roaches and spiders, though after much persistency to the management, we finally got most of that under control. If you don't mind a greasy, poorly black-painted front door, painted counters, bad-quality carpet, ancient appliances, mismarked faucets (Hot & Hot instead of Hot & Cold), flooded walkways, no parking, and shady strangers, then this is the place for you. I realize that apartments have to keep renting but if you want a good community, then bring in good people. I think management is capable of fixing these issues, but why would they when as long as the lawns get mowed twice a week, people keep on moving in? I highly doubt that they live here themselves.
