I can't believe we had to get an attorney to get St. Charles to drop the phony charges. We found a house to buy and we checked w/the mgr. over and over trying to make sure we'd done everything that we needed to do to leave in the right way. We paid all the rent money (last month's rent on the lease)-everything. Then about a month after we moved out, we receive a bill at our house for stuff like extermination, (something they do whether you want it or not), and new carpet (because of a small fire our own renters' insurance had new carpet put in there already). In all, we paid a lawyer about $800 to get rid of a bogous $450 charge and to get it off our credit report. It was just the principal of the thing. Just to show them they don't make EVERYBODY fall for their crap. We chose to give the money to a lawyer than give it to St. Charles. I know several people done the same way. They even charged us for housekeeping and I know we left that place clean. When Harold Farb owned it, it was GREAT, but it has been hell since. My niece just moved out and they did her the same way.<br>
