Resident 2001 - 2007

2/4/2007

I am still a resident, but awaiting the end of my lease. With or without construction, parking is insufficient if you are not the sole occupant of a 1 bedroom. Back lot area does flood 3 inches when it rains more than 2 hrs, but has never gone above that since Allison back in 2001. Towing is enforced for vehicles without permits. Mgmt. has changed several times in a 3 yr period. Staff is helpful to their abilities given. Maintenance crew size has decreased so it takes longer for issues to be resolved, and different appliance/issues have different contracts, so A/C will take a while whereas bath/kitchen are done more quickly. The security guards used to be great. They had 2 guys rotating nights, and was every night except Sunday. Now I don't really recall seeing one unless on the wkend, so that has dwindled as well. It is worth paying $10/month to have the alarms hooked up to the police dept, otherwise the alarm goes off after 2 minutes. They have designated dog areas. They are updating their gym and some units have newer updates like granite tops. We hope the construction ends before summer since they don't really give adequate notices of construction issues or painting to move items/etc - since summer is when more people are out of town. Do consider if you are gone more than 10% monthly. Rent is good for location and ammenities. Pool is always clean. Leaf blowers do not work before 9am. Walkin closets with patio storage adequate in 1 b/b, while 2/2 have greater closet space. Garden bathtubs in all units. Stack w/d work fine and in bathroom unless you have a 2/2 where it is in the hallway. They also do quarterly apt. inspections and yearly bugg spray so all units remain basicly decent. NEVER have had any roach or bug problems. Neighbors mostly 30s-40s corporate types, so mostly normal/nice. Trash pickup twice weekly early mornings. Office locks the doors for UPS packages. If you are running late around 534p, they will wait for you. There has been crime, and post Katrina and being 2 blocks from the freeway across the street from 2 banks, I am not surprised. Desperate times. The Exxon at the freeway has been robbed a few times in 2006, so any apt. dwelling can't protect you 24/7. Commen sense should take over. Definitely get to know immediate neighbors * * The parking is the biggest negative. 60 day notice to vacate. Never experience rude staff other than parking/towing issues.

Anonymous
