Resident ā€¢ 2017 - 2018

11/21/2018

This is a hard one for me to write but I have to write it. I cannot in good faith advise someone to live here. The staff is nice and maintenance is quick. I feel safe and it's close to everything which is why this is hard to write, but I know I would not choose to move here again or advise anyone to move her. There are several reasons and the first one is the $42 amenity charge. What amenities? This isn't some shiny new apartment complex. If you tour The Hanover highrise or any of the new apartment complexes in the zipcode they charge a VERY similar amenity fee however they have brand new sparkling pools with beautiful lounge areas, 24 hour concierge and valet, state of the art gym, fire pits and grills and beautiful seating around the pool. Those places having a 40 somethingish amenity makes sense but this having that fee at any of the Tuscany locations doesn't because the amenities are less the subpar. What am I paying for? If you're going to charge a $42 amenity fee at least paint all of the unfished wood around the complex. The new gate system is extremely inconvenient compared to what they had before? Annoying inconvenient package mailboxes that require residents to drive down the road to pick up my packages when i'd rather we'd rather have it left at our door? I saw WE because i've talked to several neighbors about this. Next... the $22 valet and trash fee. Again this is not one of these fancy new apartment complexes we do not need this. There is quite literally a dumpster within a 1 minute walk of every apartment. I see people take out there own trash several times a day so they're literally paying $22 for NOTHING. It's a ripoff. So what is the point in this? Please let the community members know? Let's say there's a 300 units between 1100 Bering and 1615 Bering because they are basically the same complex. That's $6600 a month in trash fees between the residents... I know someone who runs a valet trash business and that's not what they get paid from the complex on a monthly basis so Richdale is pocketing this cash along with the $42 amenity fee for amenities that are non existent. Lastly, this is not a normal Houston complex. They are privately owned out of state. For you this means FRUSTRATION. In a normal complex in Houston you can get approved for move in within 24 hour business hours if you have good credit and rental history. Not this place. They send your application off to another state where you have to wait in line with others from all over the country who apply at their other properties and it's a very lengthy tedious process. Again the staff is nice the apartments are decent location is great but some things about this place and the direction they seem to be going don't aline with other complexes of similar age in the zipcode.
