My experience here has been horrible for starters the day I moved in there was mold on the ceiling I called the office and they said it was just dust I try and clean it it's green and definitely mold so I call them back they say it's just dust so I make a complaint and write a review with photos and the apartment manager retaliated against me calling the cops and lying telling them I'm smoking weed in the house and when the cops came they said they didn't smell anything she has harassed me and my guests telling them that have a criminal trespass warrant and if they come back they will go to jail but if I remove my review my guests can come back. the maintenance men are creepy and very inexperienced or else they would have known that I had mold in there and the ceiling is falling apart and they have bugs . They just want the check don't live in there's crappy apartments they are not worth getting sick from living with mold or getting your tires slashed by god knows who .. there are so many NICER APARTMENTS don't waste your money… See More>

It is a great place. Resonable rates. Handy location.. Friendly and efficient staff. We were very lucky to apply and move in within three months. There is a senior recreation center one half mile east. The library is a mile away. Krogers within two miles. NortheastMalll is across the street and a strip mall within. walking distance. My fellow residents are very friendly but not nosey.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Horrible property manager, bad owners, they won't keep up maintenance inside/out. Took me 1 year to get w/d replaced that comes with apt. They said I broke my lease citing loud and obnoxious to staff and gave me a mere 30 days to vacate. How is that right when they require 60 day notice? I am a senior and I was trying to get repairs done by someone I could commicate with, I do not speak Spanish, and manager has a chip in her shoulder and hung up on me, very unprofessional, next I know I am asked to move out in Sept before my lease was up in Feb. My point is TRA gives too many rights to managers who are 20 somethings that think they are God and can do anything even if you have a lease. DFW is so flooded with transplants that they can treat residents terrible and get away with it if they don't like you personally. I wouldn't trust this property or owners, they are bullys. Also they upfront pet charge per fee and monthly rent of 22.00 per pet, gougers!!

I've lived here for 3 years and it is a great place to call "home" with a quiet neighborhood, close to lots of great shopping, entertainment, and food. They have the best office staff and maintenance staff I have ever encountered. The entire staff always greets you with a smile and is very helpful to your needs, and is quick to attend to any problems that arise. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by friendly courteous workers. The workout rooms are open 24//7 are rarely crowded and the pool area is lovely. Great place to live...Patrick

I'd like to begin by saying that I hate that I have to do this, but having exhausted all other appeal and dispute options save hiring an attorney, I am left to deal with a company whose corporate conscience extends to keeping up appearances on Facebook and other social media outlets. The apartments are a fine place to live. The people are friendly and there is a good sense of community in the place. There are not enough dumpsters and trash tends to accumulate outside of the full dumpsters, sometimes for days. The apartment is adjacent to a large mall and mall traffic. My greatest frustration is in how the management chooses to engage the people who live in the community. For example, in our third month living in the complex, I forgot to pay the rent on the 1st. On the 2nd day of the month, there was an eviction notice on my door. I took the notice to the office and a very friendly person told me that it was company policy and that if I paid, the letter would go away. This legalistic behavior only got worse when we moved out. Upon providing written notice that we were moving out,… See More>

Having not lived in an apartment for 16 years I moved here 2 years ago. I chose this place for the location and the tranquility that I felt on my first visit. Most of my neighbors have been friendly and we share concerns but some people just have a never satisfied personality. My unit was leaking into the downstairs neighbors. Once they figured out the tub needed replacing they provided a furnished apartment for the inconvenience. They have replaced bulbs and fire alarm batteries within 1-2 business days. The staff and management take time to listen and understand the concerns. Security is prompt and courteous. Fitness center and business center always look clean. Don't use the pools much so n/a. They even have doggy treats! Pet friendly. Things happen and no place is perfect but I'm happy with how well they handle matters. I recommended a friend and they moved in a year ago. They're happy living here too. Purchased a home now so that's my reason for moving.

Overall not a bad place to live. They are old, but big. The property should consider structure repairs while updating cosmetic allure, though. The subfloor in our upstairs unit is in dire need of replacing. Walls are thin. The "art" isnt my thing, but the large floorplans that seem to be exclusive to older communities make up for it. The management has made several improvements recently with retaining walls to eliminate the soil kudos for that. No pests or bugs.

Lived there for a full year. No real complaints. The sidewalks flood/get really muddy and slippery every time it rains. We loved our neighbors. Everyone was friendly. Office staff was always kind and helpful. Never had any problems with bugs or anything. They did shut off the water at least once a month for maintenance, and that was a pain. But the apartments themselves are beautiful and we loved living there.

We've lived in the complex for almost 10 years and have liked only about 2 out of the 8 management companies that have taken over during this time. Let me start by saying we don't call to have things fixed often, but here recently when we do we're met with snarkiness and a lack of compassion. Today, we called to have fixed our fire alarm, which won't stop beeping and was told there were other emergencies that take prescendance before us. So if a fire breaks out this weekend our alarm would not warn us till Monday. I'm glad to see they value the safety of their residents. Future renter's beware if you value your money and sanity steer clear from renting here. We cannot wait to move. Once given the means we will make this happen. Do not move here.

lets start off with its a nice updated apartment, but lets start off with our neighbor was a complete ----- always called the cops 4times cuz we were WALKING and she couldn't deal with our foot steps and she was a stripper who danced all night and when morning came she wanted to sleep!! then the apartment people closed the water frequently without saying anything for hours at a time, my ac was always leaking water and made my bathroom all water, they have lots of flys and bees!! there parking lot well lets just say those trees had some kind of sap water and made ur car all sticky and messed up ur paint on ur car! and at the end when we did move out they told us we had 400+ dollars worth of things to fix like a small stain on the carpet that could be removed but they need to change the whole carpet which makes zero sense cuz it was sooo small then they said our oven was dirty and charged us 75.00 to clean those caps that go on the stove tops which cost 5.00 at walmart! ill never live here ever again don't… See More>

I have honestly lived in a lot of different places and this apartment complex is no where near as bad as some of these complainers on here. The apartments are old, yes, I've lived in older that were not nearly as well maintained as these and was charged much more. The neighborhood is quiet and as long as you don't go down Arcadia to get to the highway the traffic is really non-existent. But I leave at 6:30 every morning. The only complaints I have are: 1. I have a creepy neighbor. 2. One of the people who live in an adjacent apartment either next door, below, or behind us burns food... A LOT and I can smell it. 3. The fireplaces are unnecessary and take up precious living room and storage space. 4. The trees weep all over the cars and there are no car ports to protect the paint on our vehicles. I've never seen the pools a green color and it's winter right now and they're still crystal clear blue. The sculptures are not bad at all, but I like art. The only issue we had was when we moved in, it was August and the A/C was not working properly we… See More>

I needed an apt ASAP, and not being from the area it close to a lot of things I thought would be convenient. Unfortunately being so close to businesses and the mall there is a lot of traffic and kind of a crappy area. My biggest complaint is how old and crappy the buildings are. I live on the top floor and have gotten multiple complaints that I am too loud...I live alone and I don't watch tv or wear shoes in the house. I'm pretty much never home either. My neighbors told me they could hear me going to the bathroom! I run my air constantly just to shut the noise outside and all around me. Garbage disposal never works right. The floors are fake wood and are DISGUSTING. No matter how many times I clean it never helps. The whole place is just really old. There are two pools but during the summer they are so over run with kids, the pools get gross and there is never any room. The only PRO is that it's a good price for the size, but living alone it is too big for me. I'd rather have a smaller, nicer place.… See More>

Used to be a really nice place

Hopefully they can get it there again. I don't have any problems with the people here. The office staff has been great and I have been here since 2007. I am buying a house this year so I will be leaving the apartments. I just wish that they would remodel the buildings and get a better color scheme. These windows don't keep out the hot/cold air from outside. It can't be that bad yet as my electric bill has maintained a reasonable amount but when we had the cold weather in February the inside of my window was frozen. I have had to keep sheets and blankets over the windows and sliding glass doors to keep the cold from seeping in. I believe the foundation is starting to sink a little in my apartment. I have noticed cracks and buldges forming at the ceiling around the middle of the apartment from the front door to the farthest wall. The sliding glass door doesn't lock and they have been by multiple times to fix it. I finally just stopped reporting it. I live on the second floor so there are no safety concerns there. It may just be my apartment… See More>

                                  These apartments suck

We moved into a 2 bedroom apt in August. Starting in about November, every few weeks we have no hot water. They have only started telling us we aren't going to have hot water because I call them and ask why we have no hot water EVERYTIME! So just the last 2 times we have had no water is when we have started getting notices. The people in the office are rude when I call about the water issue. The maintenence guys are very polite. I have called about a few issues and the office takes a while to get the maintenence guys out to my apartment. It is very annoying and I would not recommend this community to anyone.

These apartments had been well taken care of for as old as they are, UNTIL NOW! I cannot believe what they are doing to this place. Painting the outsides, ORANGE, GREEN, AND YELLOW! Are you kidding me? All I can say is "there goes the neighborhood". They will have to reduce the rent once everyone moves out just to get new people in. Every resident I've spoken with has plans to move out! Like the hideous sculptures and the trashy building decor wasn't enough? The only thing this complex had left to offer was the pool, and they can't even keep it open during the summer! So long Barrington, or should I say The Arts?

I've lived at Barrington Crossing since July of last year and I am only moving out because I need to save money and to help my mother out with her bills. I moved in on the recommendation of a friend who has lived there almost 3 years and he loves it. I also recommended it to another friend who moved in a couple of months after me; he loves it also. I definitely plan on giving Barrington Crossing another look in 6 months when I am apartment hunting again.

I dont know where ya'll are getting these ideas about rent going up $50 or more you guys are crazy! Like I said its great here and my neighbors love it here too. The statues or sculptures or whatever they are im still getting used too...the stuff on the buildings don't bother me. The creek or ditch looks awesome can't wait until they get done with it. I would definately recommend to my friends and others, its quiet the office staff a great they will do anything for especially Annette the Manager, and maintenance has never been a problem either. I want to start off that I have read every single review of this apartment complex and I can see valid points in every review. I am also NOT a member of the management staff. I wanted to provide future potential tenants a fair and unbiased review where I will list positive and negative aspects. I have lived in BC for over 2 years. I am a longtime apt dweller and have lived in Euless, Lewisville and Mesquite before here. I will state that my overall experience at BC has been the nicest as far as overall living conditions. First off...the kitchens are huge. In 90% of any apartment you go into..you have a small hallway kitchen. Put a toaster and microwave on the counter...you have no room. That is not the case here. The kitchen is bigger than my last apts 2nd bedroom. That is nice. You have a very good sized dining room area and living room. I also happen to have a den which is very large. The bedroom are average size..nothing that will make you go wow. The bathrooms are a decent size as well. … See More>

I have been here for almost 3 years. In just the past few months it has gone down hill, and fast. Most of the people i met when i first moved here have moved away as their leases expired... some didnt even wait until their leases were up and just left. For some reason they started out with 'art' on the sides of the buildings - and no one piece matched another - theres fish, stars, ancient tablet looking things, some things that look like antique hardware for cabinets (round, square) - too much to list. I saw one piece that i thought was a headboard to a bed. Then they went farther with 'sculptures' in bright primary colors, and one lonely stainless steel one near the office. that one isnt too bad, but following in the pattern, it doesnt match anything else. This is some stuff you see on TV in those ridiculous art shows where you think "Who the hell would buy THAT?!" Barrington Crossing, thats who. Its an embarrassment, and people who walk or drive by stare - and not in a good way. none of this so called… See More>

Been here almost a year..read some of the other reviews-there's a park in the complex so kids making noise makes sense and hello it's an apartment complex...however we've never had an issue at night...as for green pools? there's two here and I've never seen either green...so I don't know where that came from..and the sculptures make the complex stand out from the other bland apartment buildings. They're bright and considerably different but seriously if you're that ---- about decorations..buy a house and you can put as much or as little on the outside as you want. As for affordability? are you kidding me? we'd be spending this much half the size elsewhere...we searched for 2 months for a place stretching from dallas to fort worth in EVERY city in between these have the highest ratings and the complex is actually maintained unlike the last yucky place I lived in...we've never had an issue-maint. always responds quickly. I think some people are just complainers by nature. I commend the complex for trying to make things different on the outside-they won some community award for their upkeep and design so obviously the city agrees!!! As for drug users? yeah… See More>

                                                  Cannot wait to move!

The manager gave a great speech to get me to move in, including badmouthing neighboring complexes. The complex is over priced, and filled with loud people and loud kids! Since moving in, management has erected these hideous art sculptures that in no way blend with the neighborhood, the complex, or with the people living here. I no longer will let any of my friends come over, because of embarrassment. If you like to live in a beer budget place, that acts like it is champagne, this place is for you. Not for me! Don't buy into the sales speech, and don't look at the art, you may turn to stone!
