Not a slum by any means, but the rent prices are quite low. At the time of this review the rent was less than $500 for a one-bedroom. However you do have to provide 60 days notice upon moving out, which is quite ridiculous, because nobody will reserve you a house or apartment 60 days out. You basically have to pay rent for a month you're not living there or kiss your security deposit goodbye. Pets have to be less than 25 pounds and require a $150 deposit and $150 non-refundable fee. The rules are geared very much towards singles, and the area is not so great in the crime department. I experinced an attempted break-in while I lived there. Also, the parking lot is a decent shortcut to Rancier from the surrounding areas so they have installed a lot of very large speedbumps. The pavement in the parking lot looks like it was used for target practice by artillery.
