Resident 2016 - 2017

3/2/2017

My family and I moved to the Broadstone Walker Commons in July of 2016. There were two reasons we picked this place out of the many apartment complexes we visited in League City and the nearby areas. 1) Schools! League City Elementary (PK-5) and Parr Elementary (K-5) have been outstanding with our children. They love their schools and we are happy that they're happy. 2) After Faith gave us the tour and talked about how it was like living here, she won our business. She made it sound like this was the perfect place to live. Turns out, she was right. We are now entering our 8th month living here and I can't think of anything negative. One thing people need to understand when you live in an apartment, is that you will hear your neighbors. However, there's a difference between noise you should expect vs noise that is unacceptable. We are blessed that we are surrounded by neighbors that are courteous, friendly, and do not cause excessive noise that disturbs your peace. I am a light sleeper so one way I've tuned out the noise that you can expect from apartment living is getting a small fan that produces a soft hum and placed it on my nightstand. Just a suggestion for those of you that might be light sleepers like me. I can keep going on the many things I love about this place. The gym is awesome and for the most part, residents pick up after themselves, wipe off the equipment they use, and return weights back to where they got them from (not all but most). All my maintenance requests whether it's a quick fix or an emergency have been addressed quickly and professionally. I love getting notified via email that I have a package in the office. This place communicates very well with the residents and hosts community events where we as residents can get together and have a nice time. There isn't a playground for children on-site, however, League City Park is a quick 5 minute drive away. Also, if you want to ride your bike or go for a walk/jog, you can take a stroll down W. Walker St safely from BWC to the library on Hwy 3. It's about one mile each way. The only thing on my wish list, is a heated pool. We live in Texas where the weather is crazy but when it does dip down below 70 degrees, it'd be awesome to get in a warm pool. My kids can handle a chilly pool but not me :) You may not find parking in front of your building when you come home late in the evening but you'll find a spot close by. It's no big deal at all, despite what you may read on here. You will not regret living here. The only reason my family and I will leave is because we purchased a home. Otherwise, I'm not interested in looking elsewhere. We are happy to call Broadstone Walker Commons our home!
