Crest Manor Apartments
Resident · 2015 - 2017
I have lived here for almost two years and I have been fairly satisfied with it, but there are recent things that have cropped up that I'm not too pleased with. The new management NEVER calls you back. I leave message after message, stating that I need to speak with her and she literally does not return your call. I think that is really unprofessional and a poor business tactic. You should always return calls to your residents and/or clients. Being a manager and not doing that is simply not an option. My check was lost when I dropped it off on the 2nd of this month and they are charging me an $80 late fee. I admit that not putting the check in an envelope was my fault, but they won't even return my calls so I can try and negotiate this late fee. I have never been delinquent in a rent payment and am dismayed that Crest Manor has no sympathy for circumstances that are sometimes out of residents control. The trash pickup three times a week is convenient, but often times it is done haphazardly with no regard to the outcomes. I often come home from work after a trash pickup day to find a pizza box (or some other litter) on my stairwell that doesn't belong to me. The trash guys often just drop trash in their rush to empty the receptacles and don't seem to care if they litter the complex on their way out. Also, the amount of trash people put in their bins is ridiculous. They let it flood all over the place and it's an eyesore to the complex. I live in the back buildings that overlook the warehouse and the landscaping back here is neglected. Other parts of the complex have nice flowers and trees and the part in the back has sparse and unkempt vegetation that creates a dismal appearance. These are also the more expensive "phase 2 units", but they look run down. When I first moved in, I complained that my neighbours were using their balcony as a storage unit (something that is addressed in the rules) and that my view was an old washing machine, boxes of god-knows what and a ton of plastic child toys crammed packed onto the small patio. Crest did NOTHING about it. I learned to live with it, but I find it funny that they are so militant about one aspect of their complex and not about the others. The dog feces are everywhere. I know they said that they have enforced the DNA testing, but I honestly believe they have given up. I can't blame Crest entirely for the dog feces, but I just can't believe the gall of some of the dog owners around here not cleaning up after their dogs. The complex provides plastic bags for gods sake! My counter tops were not sealed when I first moved in and I only just realized this after I was settled in. They easily scratch and don't come clean as easily as they should. Also, maintenance is quick, but they sometimes leave the area in more disarray than they found it. For instance, when I first moved in, I called about my vent making a really loud noise when I was sleeping. For some reason, they went into my closet and tore a huge hole in the top of the wall and never resealed it. I called the office immediately after I noticed plaster on the floor of my closet and notified them of the giant hole. I know they are going to give me a hard time about it when I move out. For the most part, I do love living here, but it's the little things that drive me crazy. The unkempt appearance of the complex, the litter everywhere and the manager not being professional enough to call me back.
