Resident 2014 - 2015

3/9/2015

I moved in Soho back in April of 2014. Parking has been a bit of an issue, but the staff and maintenance are phenomenal. They have gotten to any issues I've had within 24 hours and make sure to go above and beyond. My move in date was a smooth transition. The leasing staff are very upbeat and super friendly. Moving from out of state, I'm very satisfied with Soho being my first home in Texas!

After reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to move in here but it has actually been a pleasant experience. My mo din day was very icy but the staff was so accommodating and walked me to my apartment and made sure I felt like I was home. Everything in my apartment was really nice and clean. I'm hoping I don't run into any of the parking issues everyone else is talking about, but so far it's been great.

      Resident 2014 - 2015

I used to live here back in 2010 to 2012, and loved living here. Never had any sort of issue with parking, staff, or neighbors. The pool is awesome during the summer, and everyone is so friendly. I moved back in 2014 because no matter where I go, I have been spoiled with these layouts. The apartments are VERY spacious. Parking has become a little more of an issue now, but the staff is working on it. Towing has definitely helped out a lot though, I just wish there were a few more spots for visitors. Maintenance is the same from when I lived here in 2010 and they are still awesome! They know the complex and all the residents like the back of their own hand! The management is always smiling and laughing! Super friendly and always available to help out! Still a great place to live, Definitely recommend living here!

This is the most HORRIBLE apartment complex I have ever lived in. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything. I have contacted the office about my upstairs neighbor on numerous occasions and they have done NOTHING to help the situation and have not followed up with me at all. My neighbor is rude and disrespectful and walks like a 300 pound woman. Management is a joke and could care less about your problems. There are roaches and screaming children playing outside and in the breezeways all day. There is NO PARKING EVER; good luck getting a spot after 10pm. The office could care less about complaints about the parking. They would rather you pay for a $100 a month garage no where near your apartment. Don't be suckered in by the cheap price and somewhat upgraded appliances. THESE APARTMENTS SUCK! Trust the reviews. Ive never seen an apartment with such sucky reviews.

I moved in only about 5 months ago and have had issues from day one. The parking is horrible, the noise level from residents is horrible and I've had to call the cops and make threats with my attorney. The only thing good is maintenance and look of the apartments. Most of the puerile they allow to live here have no respect for others and seem to be from poor areas. When my lease ends this year I will be heading back to frisco as I've never lived in such a horrible apartment with bad management before in my life. Plus did I mention I paid my rent online and the next morning I get a notice for non payment of rent. I call management about their error and they say nothing. DO NOT MOVE HERE.

First off, let me just say... I don't even live at these apartments... I went to visit a friend of mine whos a resident at the complex and stayed the night... The apartment complex had my car towed the following morning.. Not even 10 hours of me being there... Because I was not a resident.. There's maybe 10 "visitor" parking spots scattered throughout the complex and they're always full as well as the regular parking spots.. So Where do the visitors park you ask. No where. Because these apartments think that everyone there is lonely and has no friends or family who would like to come visit their friends or family at the apartment that they live at. THANK YOU SOHO, I hope you and the towing company enjoy the $270 that you just took from me, I just keep that kind of money lying around <3... My friend who lives there then told me that the complex is notorious for their towing for people without the "sticker" on their cars, as well as the lack of parking which the complex refuses to do anything about... All I'm saying is.. If I was paying 1,100+ to rent out this… See More>

                12/17/2014

Let's start by saying this is the worst placed I've lived in my entire rental history. I moved to Soho Parkway when the community was being managed by Sherman, as you can see on other reviews we miss the old management. There is a reason why. The girls working at the office now are very unprofessional, most of the times I've gone to the office and it has been about 4 times, they normally are hanging out at the back laughing and discussing how good their weekend was and they can see you standing up in the lobby and they still take their time to finish their "interesting conversations". Any concerns about the safety of the community or how unpleasant is to walk around the complex is due to poor lighting and animal droppings or even how many cars have been vandalized is not a concern to them. At one time I went to the office to complain about how the gym was vandalized and told them the people I saw there at one point and even asked that if they really wanted to find out who was causing such issues at the gym someone could stay after hours to… See More>

I lived here for almost 4 years and I hate it. Parking suck's since they have changed towing company's. When new management took over and stopped using Safari Towing. The new Towing company never comes in and does there job. South Auto Tow does not do there job. Not to mention they are located in Dallas. ------- was 10 times better as a manager compared to the new one they have running it now. Office staff are all -----------!!!! Rude and dress like -------.. ------------------ and --------------------.. Needless to say I think the cooperation pick them up off the streets in down town Dallas. Office

                    11/6/2014

I have been a resident for almost two years and ever since new mangement came on board the complex has gone down hill. The office people always have an attitude when you go in there with a concern. They are rude and not welcoming. The grounds of the complex are always dirty with trash. There is always a lot of noise. There is always a bunch of kids who seem like they are up to no good. Other residents don't respect residents there, I've had encountered a couple performaning sexual activities as well. And parking lets not even start with that. They don't have enough parking for residents there. If you come home late well good luck finding somewhere to park, there are visitors parking but if a resident parks there you will get tolled. Its very frustrating not being able to find parking as soon as you come home. I have had a very bad experience living here if you are thinking about soho for a place to call home, look somewhere else. I cant wait for my lease to be up to move out of here. Living here has been hell.. I don't recommend anyone to… See More>

I have lived in this complex for about a year and am moving out soon due to a miriad of issues. Before I begin my review, I would like to preface with the fact that I have been a good tenant and never late on any payments...so as not to appear vindictive. The Pro's: -The apartment I currently live is not overpriced and fairly spacious The Mehs - Parking can be a pain, especially after 10PM on any night - Dog droppings can be seen near the waste containers because management is lacking on replinishing bags, but at least they do provide bags. The Con's...and they are very strong con's: - Crime is a problem at this complex. Not only have there been 6 car break-ins over the last 6 months, but the weight room has been vandalized on numerous occasions, and the theft has even reached the front office, where a computer was stolen during office hours. They have hired a security guard to work in the office during office hours only. I assume because the staff doesn't feel safe in this environment. - Government housing/Projects are being built next door. I have a feeling this will exacerbate… See More>

Pros: - Affordable - 3 bed apartment is spacious Cons: -Tons of theft. Car broken into, plus about 6 other cars that I know of. Also, the office had a computer stolen from it in broad daylight. Unfortunately, no consideration is being placed to installing cameras. Most of the street lights are out as well. They are adding a security officer, but only during office hours. Wouldn't assist at all when working with the police on the investigation. - Vandalism. Pool and workout facilities constatnly vandalized. Only place they would install cameras was the workout room. - Apartment isn't top tier. Pretty low quality, but nothing too trashy. Just overall low grade craftsmanship, but to be expected. - Unfortunately only one service provider, so electric isn't the cheapest. Plus the fact all the exterior doors let in outside air. -Finally, there is a project being built right next door that will be complete this year. Already issues with the crime, and I hate to say it but I don't see it getting better. Overall Opinion: If you are looking for a location in McKinney, there is probably 6-8 other apartment complexes within 5 miles that have much better service, safety, and amenities. For the same price. I'm moving out… See More>

This place is a nightmare and I can't wait to get out of here. The new management has been by far the worst out of the 4 complexes I lived in. I have to say that if you are going to move here, think twice. I moved here because I wanted to live close to work and when the new management took over I thought it was for the best. But ever since Pinnacle took over it's been a nightmare. Poor maintenance, poor customer service, cars getting stolen from the parking lot, and a lot of really ------ people moving in. This is definitely the worst place to be. At first I was proud to say I lived here, now I'm embarrassed to say SOHO is my home. This is not what I signed for. If the rent was 600 a month I would be perfectly fine, since paying that much gets you nothing but trouble. But here it's not cheap and on top of that they charge for everything. When it comes to the valet trash you are one of the lucky ones if your trash even gets picked up; and we pay for that not by choice. There… See More>

I have to say that when I moved in a yr ago I was prod to say I lived here ,but ever since the new management came along in April, things have gone downhill fast! The new management company is horrible and worthless .. Someone needs to teach them a little something about what customer service really is. Holly is by far the worst one in the group . From the time you walk into the office to talk to her she has this attitude like we are bothering her and she doesn't have time for the residents . When u ask her about some added fees that do not make sense and she can't give you an answer , you need to question Whether she is compitent to do her job correctly . I have never seen anyone in the leasing office smile besides the maintaince which, by the way is AWESOME!. That is the best part of living in this dump I have to call home for the next four months before I can leave and actually find a great place to live . On top of the poor customer service this new management company… See More>

I just renewed my lease a couple of months ago and am regretting my decision. The first year was fine, but the property is under new management and it has gone downhill quickly. The have now closed the amenities and leave them only open during business hours. The fitness area is open from 8-5 and closed on Sundays. So if you are a working professional, the gym, pool, and other amenities are not going to be available to you. In addition, the painting is making the property look cheap. I also feel the management is unable to properly manage a property. The reason for reducing the hours on the amenities is because of "inappropriate behavior". I feel that a core competency of property management is to make the amenities available to all residents and take care of the problems rather than close them outside of business hours. All of the other properties seem to be able to do this. Why not the management at Soho? I would look at other options in the area before you sign a lease at this property. No longer worth the… See More>

I would just like to warn everyone to stay away from these apartments. this is the worst management I've seen at any apartments I've ever stayed at. We were in mckinney texas 4 work last year and we went in to the soho apartments looking for a short term lease. because of the short term lease they charge me an additional 400 dollars per month on top of the going rate which I agreed to because we needed somewhere to stay. Which made our lease 1250 per month for a 1 bedroom. when we moved in everything was fine till just after the first month when my guys came home and there was a eviction noticed on the door. I called the front office the very next morning and I was told that they forgot some fees when we signed our lease and would need in a additional 300 dollars per month plus a late fee for not paying in full on time. (which would make it 1550 per month for a on bedroom. ) after I refused to sign a new lease for a higher amount and several long conversations with the manager he finally agreed to… See More>

Seriously people, give this place a a drive through only, know from experience this is NOT an apartment complex you want to live in! Drive by during the weekend or after 5:00 during the work week and see how many parking spaces there are, not many! Ok, so you have to pay $30 when you move in if you want a key fob to enter the gym facility and it would give you 24 hour gym access. Well guess what? Now you can only use the gym during their office hours! So for people that work 8-5 forget being able to use the gym. Guess some immature snot or snots decided it was good to abuse the area, well since they must not have cameras in the gym to catch that person or persons and take away their key, they decide to lock it up after 5! Yeah that's really fair isn't it? Management can't be bothered is the problem with this place. New management took over about 2 months ago and nobody in there can be bothered to do crap to make living here peaceful! Ok. My mother has always told me "give credit where credit is due" and i would have to say since the take over i was having a lot of issues with the OLD ASSISTANT but Holly has been great. I told her what was going on and just when i thought she forgot, a few days later she called me back (old management did not) and told everything was taken care of. Not only that Audra called me to follow up to make sure everything was still ok. They are also adding parking which is making things A LOT BETTER.I haven't talked to the manager lately but i will say this Thank you Audra and Holly.

Michael takes the time to listen to any issues and makes sure that it is resolve in a timely manner. Michael becoming the manager here has made Soho a better place to call home. The office staff is great as well always greeting you with a smile and making sure that all of your needs are met.

I have lived at Soho Parkway since they used to be Alexan (first owners). I have seen many people come in and out of the office, but the staff we have now has been very good. Michael listens and cares. Leona is a caring assistant manager and she always has a smile on her face. We love Ashley, she is always helpful and always tries to help us when we call. Glenn has been very sweet to, and he pays us full attention when we come in. The parking is not something they can personally change. It is sad that people blame them for this. And, the management has been more than helpful in getting me exactly what I need. I saw reviews on parking complaints, so to remedy that I opted to pay the additional $125 a month for a parking garage, problem solved. Michael & Ashley have been amazing through the whole experience. The apartments are beautiful & very urban, which I love.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! I have lived here for almost two years, but I will not be renewing my lease when it is time. The apartment itself is quite nice, but all the other issues overshadow it. I feel a lot of people feel the same because my apartment building has people in and out and always feels empty. There are many issues, but the main one is the parking. There isn't any unless you are in for the night by 8PM. If you are lucky, you can risk getting your car hit by parking in the roundabout circular drive. Or, you MAY find a spot across the apartment complex. Otherwise, you have to park in the neighboring apartments, who actually thought ahead and built enough parking to satisfy not only their residents, but the ones that were unfortunate enough to choose SOHO as their home. I often times have to park there, and walk alone at night, to my apartment. It seems that if you pay rent at a place, you should have a parking spot. They did supposedly try to fix this problem by making (threatening) everyone get a parking pass. The dog poop is another problem, and… See More>

So glad to be leaving this month! We hate this place so much, it's nasty and they are letting anyone move in. If you deal drugs and don't have a job then move here. The new paint is horrible, everyone at the office is lazy and lie to residents to make themselves look good. This has turned into a very ------ place. Stay away now that there are section 8 apartments being built next door!!

                                                  12/2/2013

Parking is awful. There is not much interaction between the office and the residents. It's often like you are the problem and not appreciated. The dog poop outside my door everyday, the fighting in my building constantly makes me uneasy. It's like they let anyone live here now a days. They have no standards, if you have money then you can move in. Did I say parking (LOL... huge issue) as heaven forbid that a resident gets a parking space, as if you park in the visitors spot (which may be the only one open) you get towed. The tow truck hangs out all night patrolling the grounds for more opportunities to tow. This environment is extremely hostile and the office doesn't make things any easier with the 42 million memos that they post on your door threatening to fine you for various things. Here is an idea, treat people with respect and have some class and the people here will be more willing to chip in and do their part and have respect for where there lay their head at night.
