Sadly, our overall experience has been poor. We have previously answered surveys before and written emails but we have basically given up. When we moved in the apartment it was delivered with long time accumulated dirt all around, dark stained bathtubs, food matter inside the kitchen drawers just to mention a few. After documenting everything and placing a complaint we were offered a one time only $300 discount on the monthly payment which took about a year of constant reminding from our part to actually get it applied. To keep it short, the hallways and stairways are historically filthy, neighbors who refuse to place their trash bags inside trash cans add to the filthiness by having the trash fluids leak out and spread throughout the hallways when picked up by the trash valet service. The condominium has clear rules against this but nothing gets done and there are no consequences even though complaints are made. The office never picks up the phones when called, voicemails are never returned forcing us to personally go to the office when help is needed. The grass in front of the apartments are full of dog feces even though there are $250 fines for not picking up after your dogs and a sporadic email reminding residents about this, a lot people still fail to pick up after their dogs creating not only a horrible sight but a health hazard too especially now that the weather is starting to warm up leading up to a fly invasion attracted by the dog poop. The dog clean up bag stations more often than not are not refilled compounding to the dog poop problem by giving an excuse to irresponsible dog owners for not picking up after their dogs because of lack of poop bags. It can take multiple visits to the office to have this problem taken care off. A long list of managers have come and gone including a property ownership change but sadly instead of getting better it has gotten worse. There are always promises that it will get better and we get informed about wonderful plans but nothing happens. Maintenance requests placed online on the SOHO's resident website get regularly ignored and on top of it we get emails stating the work has been performed when it hasn't and on top of it, we get surveys asking how satisfied are we with the services performed. Again, forcing us to once again make multiple visits to the office to have our needs addressed. There are even more things we could add here but honestly we feel this will fall on deaf ears. The only reason we are writing this is because this is the third request for the survey so why not. We are sure one thing Berkshire will definitely not miss is raising the monthly rent at the time of renewal. We're sure they will get that right. The one good thing that has come out of our experience at SOHO is our desire not to renew our contract for a third term and instead prepare ourselves to buy a house. You asked for our experience so here is just part of it.
