The model apartment you will be shown, is nothing like the unit you will get. I watched for months as the maintenance workers painted over over mold in vacant units, severe roach infestation, fake security cameras, that they cant seem to view footage of when a tenants been violated or robbed. The laundry rooms, which there is only 2, not 4 like they advertise, are disgusting, soap buildup, lint traps full of all kinds of stuff,mildew in washers, not to mention having you items stolen right out of the dryers, moldy walls, just look under the ac unit in the main laundry, the wall is covered in black mold spores, that just continue to grow through the paint that maintenance sprays on it about once a month. How hard would it be to replace a single sheet of drywall, for the health of your tenants? WATCH YOUR UTILITY CHARGES EVERY MONTH, when you get your bill, keep it, make copies, and check it every month, they tend to slip extra charges in often, or claim your water bill is $40 higher than the previous months, randomly. Also, they do not follow the Texas renters rights laws, The Texas housing requirements, statutes, and rules. So, not "if" but "when" they start trying to evict you for some bull crap, or fine you, give false lease violations, or threaten to cut off your utilities, Dont just let them do it to you, research Texas Laws for Landlords and Tenants rights, and contact HAA, Tenants Union, the Att Gen office, etc. Or better yet, pass them on by when your apartment hunting, for your own good, health and safety.
