Resident 2014 - 2016

6/15/2016

You get what you pay for with this apartment complex. I'm not sure what the prices are now, but my brother and I chose this place because at the time it was the cheapest we could find in the area. However, the cheap price tag came with some setbacks. The apartments themselves are very cheaply made which I had already anticipated. They must have hired the world's laziest painters because they got it everywhere, all over the outlets, light switches, fireplace, etc. My front door gets stuck constantly because of the heat and I usually have to slam my hip into it to get it to open on a sunny day. This place certainly has a bug problem. Yes, you can call the main office and they will notify pest control, but pest control only comes once a week. I usually just keep bug spray on hand. Parking was terrible when we first got here but they did attempt to mend this by turning visitor parking spots into residential spots. However, depending on which part of the complex you live, you will not find parking near your apartment if you come home late. One time I came home late from studying on campus and I had to park very far from my apartment. As I was walking to my apartment I passed by some guys drinking and sitting in the bed of a truck. They were very creepy and said to me, "hey girl, why are you out so late". I just walked away as fast as I could and now I never come home late. The walls are very thin so if people are talking outside you can pretty much hear everything. The neighbors are usually fairly quiet but on occasion you will hear people blasting loud Spanish music from their apartments or balconies. Also residents who don't have cars bring shopping carts from grocery stores and just leave them outside, luckily the apartment usually moves them within a couple of days. Expect to have maintenance issues. I have had my kitchen sink and dishwasher fixed at least three times and it actually needs to be fixed again. I also had an issue with my bathtub peeling because it needed to be resurfaced, and although I called the office about it, they never showed up to fix it. Overall, I really didn't like this place. However, if you're on a tight budget and this is all you can afford, there are certainly worse places than this. But you can't buy a Toyota and expect it to be like a Mercedes.
