University Village Apartments

We lived here after me and my husband got married in 2004. The complex is nice and quiet but that does not make up for everything else. If the water gets cut off and then you recieve the notice the next day that the water is going to be cut off. We never saw the pool open when we lived there and we lived there for 2 yrs. The maintenance men there needed maintenance themselves. We didn't have a problem with pets. We had a small dog that we put a pet deposit down for. When we moved out in 2006 to our house, we didn't really worry about whether we got the pet deposit or the deposit on the apartment back, which we never did. Just recently my husband checked his credit and discovered that not only did they keep both deposits but they also charged us an extra $798 in "damages and repairs", which they never sent us a letter stating that we owed that money and why. On top of that, because we never knew about the extra charges, they sold it to a collection agency and they want us to pay the amount when they never even informed us about the "damages and repairs". My mother lived there too and they tried to charge her $1500 in "damages and repairs" when she moved out but somehow she found out and they agreed to just keep her deposit. They obviously are not an honest or trustworthy complex. I don't know if it is the owners or the people working for them that are the dishonest ones but if you live there now or are going to live there document everything and take lots of pictures because they are going to come after your life savings when you move out.
