Resident 2012 - 2013

3/13/2013

I've been living here since July 2012. It has been a good experience. The office staff are always courteous whenever I've needed to stop in or call. The maintenance staff is friendly, and things are taken care of in a timely manner. I had a water emergency where the faucet in my shower broke, spraying water everywhere with no way to turn it off. I called the office and maintenance was here within a couple of minutes and quickly fixed the problem. I also had to call about a problem I was having with my air conditioning and again, maintenance quickly fixed it by the end of the day. There was a problem with roaches this summer and I called the office to have the kitchen sprayed. I haven't seen another one since. Every time I've had to call for any type of service it was always followed up by a call from the girls in the office the next day to be sure that the problem was taken care of to my satisfaction. My unit is one of the refurbished efficiencies, and it is not bad at all. I've had no problems with any appliances or anything like that. The plumbing is rather loud but it's something that you get used to. The washer and dryer, which is in my unit and included in my rent, are older models, but they work excellently. I will say is that the price for the efficiences is a little high for the amount of square footage, especially in comparison with the price and size of the other units, but it is still very affordable. Storage space is tight, but that's to be expected in a unit this size. I was surprised at the size of the closet in such a small unit. It's larger than you'd think. As far as the grounds, I have never felt that I was in danger or felt unsafe. Crime is everywhere, and it has been getting worse in this area, but that goes for all the complexes, not just this one. Since I have lived here I think there have been two or three notices left on my door about crime that has occured here. Just by using common sense and being aware of your surroundings at all times is the one of the best things you can do. Parking in the front part of the complex is crowded. My building is in the back, and I never have trouble finding parking. My boyfriend visits on the weekends, and we have never had any trouble with his car being parked in the visitor's parking lot. The trash areas for the most part are well kept, and the dumpsters are emptied on a regular basis so there isn't a lot of trash lying around. There are a lot of people with dogs, and there are also a lot of people that do not pick up after their dogs too, which is a problem. My building is surprisingly quiet and my neighbors all seem friendly. I don't really have a problem with the noise level as far as the neighbors go, but as I stated before the plumbing is rather loud. I like how the office is open 7 days a week. A lot of apartment offices are closed on Sundays. Overall, it's a decent, affordable place to live with a courteous and helpful office staff. Cheryl is the girl that I signed my lease with, and I was pleasantly surprised when she greeted me by name a couple of months later while I was walking around the property. At my last apartment my ex-roommate and I were paying a substantialIy higher rent. Granted it was a much newer and nicer complex, but the management and maintenance staff were horrible and parking was essentially non existent. This complex is a million times better than the higher dollar complex. If you are looking for a place that won't break the bank every month, then you should definitely check this place out.
