Windmill Townhomes & Duplexes

If you like a dorm or frat environment this is the place for you. None of the doors or windows fit correctly, and people are often out on their decks until all hours screaming (3am or later even on week nights)-so it sounds like they're in your room. Although you have to sign something saying you won't even run the vacuum after 10pm, the manager doesn't mind noise and will not take the initiative to quiet noisy tenants. The neighbors rarely socialize indoors. We once returned home at 2am to have partying neighbors who we don't even know snap at us, "Are we too loud? Well we're just getting started." Add to that sorority girls running through the parking lot screaming and spraying shaving cream on cars, the garage band's daily practice, and a motor from the machine the maintenance staff uses to clean the sidewalks running constantly between 8 and 5, and there is rarely peace and quiet for any length of time. This sidewalk cleaning has been daily for the last several weeks, and I am wondering who has to pay for all that electricity and water. Twice cleaners/painters have been on my deck without notifying me, moved everything without putting it back, and dumped some of my plants and left them there.

On the positive side, they have recently updated some fixtures, but their installation was not well planned. They came to my apartment half a dozen times unannounced and stayed for an hour. The maintenance staff is very nice and efficient; any problems are taken care of right away. The price is very reasonable for the size but way too expensive for management to not take care of obnoxious neighbors. The townhouse itself was great and we never had major maintenance problems. Maybe we just had bad luck with where our particular townhouse was situated, but we lived here for 2 years and the noise was steady.

If you are a serious student or a professional live somewhere else.
