Beware bogus "reviews" by management! Avoid this place!!!
I want to start by stating that I waited for a few weeks after move out to write this review so I could cool down a bit. That being said, every comment on the lousy maintenance, bugs (roaches mostly), mold (do not underestimate this it s in the air ducts and caused both of us significant health problems at times), shoddy old construction, vermin, crime, drugs, and most of all dumb snotty management, is 100% accurate. The positive posts are all plants, bogus, phony. Read them closely. They appear to be written by the same person, someone with the language skills of a junior high school student (or less). In my own personal experience I have witnessed drug deals in the parking lot, 2 men masturbating (illegals?) in the back seat of a car (more than once), a large unattractive woman walking around drunk on her second floor balcony, big dogs pooping everywhere, rats a-plenty, blatant gang activity, unattended minors running around wild for days, people passed out drunk by front doors and in the parking lot, at least 7 people (adults) living in a 2 bedroom unit (they did move out at some point), bi-weekly police visits, occasional arrests, and my girlfriend s vehicle broken into twice in the first 3 months. I have one item of pending business with LaMaison so I can t be more specific or I would. In fairness, the grounds are fine and the location is great. The buildings should, for the most part, be condemned and torn down before they fall down. When maintenance was required, though it was prompt, generally it was a duct tape MacGyver kind of deal. When we moved in, we knew it was temporary so we put up with a lot of things other renters probably would not have. The reason we kept such a low profile relates to our primary complaint about the complex in general -- the management. Again, I m not going to specifically name anyone at this point, but suffice it to say, if you like Dumb and Mean, then this is the place for you. My girlfriend has a sociology degree and is convinced that the manager is either mentally ill or mentally challenged. This is someone who should choose another career path, I ll leave it at that. Obviously, I do not in any way recommend this complex. In fact, we were borderline when we moved in and within a few days regretted the decision. Again, avoid this place.Share This Review
