Post Oak seemed like a great deal when I moved in; the rent was cheap for the size of the room I was able to get and the staff was really nice. When I moved in it became clear why. The building is really uneven (the foundation shifts and they're unwilling to fix it) so my window won't open and it kills my electricity bill. My doors stick and everything leans. I have had a huge problem with my electricity bill ($150 for a small one bedroom with the air never going below 78). This combined with the shoddy construction is a big part of the reason I have decided to move to the Villas.

Maitenance has always been really nice and prompt, even if they weren't always able to fix everything. The new manager is really nice, but the rest of the staff is incompetent. Just be sure that if you have to speak to someone you don't get sucked in by the meaningless flattery of the woman at the front desk. Go straight to the manager.

The apartment is pretty big for what I'm paying, and the room was really clean when I moved in. They even let me move in a couple of days early free of charge. They have always been ready to address any problems I have had (with the exception of the woman at the front desk) and have made it a point to learn something about each of the tennents. If you do decide to move in, there is one new building that is well worth the price jump. Its not built with cheap rotting wood and the rooms are much bigger. You also won't have to listen to the construction that goes on at least once a week or have you water turned off without warning (which has happened three times in the last month).

Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but I would not recommend these apartments to anyone planning to live in them for longer than a couple of months. I was here 6 months and I can't wait to leave. The insulation is terrible, the buildings are rotting, and the the construction going on around the grounds overshadows any positives to this complex.
