University Pines Apartments

DO NOT LIVE HERE! People who are coming to college are very excited when moving into this apartment, but it is not worth the cost, or the terrible experience. To start, the apartments are completely outdated and they are so dirty. When I first moved in my feet were completely black every time I took one step in here, the floor was sticky, and when I vacuumed, the canister would have literal piles of dirt. Everything in here looks awful; there is paint all over the floors, the floors are lifting, the doors are not flush so everything and anything can come in your house from smells to bugs, half of the cabinets are so small they are unusable, there are stains on the sinks, etc. Dirt pieces also blow out of my air conditioner. The people who live here are mostly college students but they rent to anyone, so there are a few old people and ------ people who live here as well. Maintenance rarely ever comes even when the apartment "schedules" them to come out and do something as simple as change an air filter. The maintenance man came to my apartment once and said it looked like my filter had not been changed in months even though they put a flyer outside of your door saying they come at least once a month. They one time had to replace my toilet and left it in the hallway for at least two months, and this is not an exaggeration. The apartment staff wants to come in houses at least 3 to 4 times a month to fine and bust as many people as they can, I mean we are COLLEGE students for gods sake and they take full advantage of that. At the end of the year, they send a list of possible damage fines they can give you and that list is 4 pages long! Once again, this is college living, things are going to happen. It's not like they even fix the place with how terrible it looks. The gates are always broken, too. It's at least every other week that a gate breaks and then they leave this gate open for at least a week. The laundry facilities are outdated and this sketchy company they use always takes $5.00 out of your account even if you only use one dryer ($1) and a washer ($1.50). They always ticket cars and apartments for anything; if they could just give you a ticket for breathing they probably would. Some staff is okay and helpful, but others are blatantly rude and should not be working with college students. The only positive thing about this apartment is that it is away from parents and it is very close to campus; so close that you can wake up 9:00 am for a 9:05 am class.
