Resident 2015

12/1/2015

This apartment complex is awful. I'll start with the public areas. The grass is forever overgrown. There are ants all over the grounds. There is always trash strewn about everywhere. The parking lot has numerous large potholes. The security lighting on the sides of the buildings doesn't work. The lights are constantly going on and off. There is a lot of broken glass in the grass, also. There is dog poop EVERYWHERE. Several residents just open their doors and allow their (very unfriendly) dogs to just run free and attack other pets that are being walked on leashes. There is always trash stacked all around the dumpsters, it's bagged household trash, couches and mattresses, etc. Some residents don't even bother taking their trash to the dumpster, they just stack it up outside their front door for days. Nothing is done about any of this even though the manager is VERY aware of what is going on. Now, the condition of my unit: Windows and doors don't seal, which management blames on building shift. My door doesn't stay shut unless the deadbolt is engaged, also blamed on building shift. Building shift is understandable, but adjust things so I don't continue to have this issue. Toilets don't flush properly. Carpets were not replaced before move in, even though it was promised. The carpet is dirty and smells but management doesn't have to live here, so they don't care. The whole apartment is filthy. I highly doubt that my unit was even cleaned after the last tenant moved out and before I moved in. There was a very happy army of ants marching along the edge of my living room, carting off all of the bits of leftover food they were finding in the "shampooed" carpets! I could go on and on and despite my countless calls to the office and visits to the office, nothing gets done. Let's talk about communicating with the front office. If they don't answer (85% of the time) don't bother leaving a message, because they WILL NOT CALL BACK. The young man in the office is very nice and seems to want to help, but the manager is uninterested and the poor guy doesn't have the power to get things done. If you get the manager on the phone, expect empty promises, outright refusal to do anything, and tons of attitude. I hate moving and was really looking forward to spending several years here. Unfortunately, due to the manager's horrid attitude, the lack of concern for any rule enforcement, and lack of concern for keeping residents happy, I will be moving as soon as my lease is up! I've never been so eager to move! I hope this review saves at least one person from making the huge mistake I've made by moving here.
