Resident for a year
Tanglewood is a great place to live for the price. If you host parties, or listen to loud music, it isn't a place for you. It is a vary quiet and safe place to live. The apartments aren't boxed together and there are nice trees around the property. The carpet was brand new when I moved in and all of the roofs and gutters were replaced this year. There is plenty of parking. Security patrols every night and there are motion lights outside. Post office is across Gregory Lane and MCC is right across 19th. Management and maintenance are very nice. These are government apts so you must give them your income. Market rent for a 2br/1.5 bath is $550 but my roommate and I got $499/month based on our combined income. I wish pets were allowed here and that's the only reason I'm considering moving. But who knows... I might stay here. The only thing I don't like are the monthly inspections. They pick 2 or 3 days at the end of each month and the check your apt for cleanliness. If you're not a total slob you'll be fine and will pass inspection. It's really not a big deal. Maintenance is fast when something breaks. Cable has gone out twice because of lightening strikes and it's back on the same day. I think only 2 cars have been broken into and I think they were left unlocked. Compared to most other apts in Waco, that's not bad at all. There's a bus stop right across the street. The neighborhood behind the complex is nice... no trashy houses. I'm pretty sure Time Warner Cable is the only thing you can get there, but the prices aren't bad. My neighbors are friendly. There's are families with young kids that live next to me... but I don't see them much, and there are some elderly women who live across from me... don't see them much either, maybe 5 times the whole year.Share This Review
