Resident 2011 - 2013

10/31/2013

This place is absolutely horrible. The staff when we moved in early 2011 was very nice to get us in to sign the lease, then they stopped caring about anything going on. Management has changed three times in the two years we have lived there, and none of them have even mediocre customer service skills. They are pushy and argumentative. They also have a tendency to let maintenance complaints sit for months on end. It takes 6 months on average to respond to anything that is not an "emergency." The tenets who live here fall into two categories; people trying very hard to move out, and people here for the long run who don't care how much trouble they cause. Many reviewers have stated the cops are called out 2-3 times a week. This is inaccurate. They come out every night as a matter of course, just in case anything does happen (I get off of work at 12:30 AM and I pass the cops as they leave every night). There are cigarette butts everywhere, people throw entire furniture sets into the dumpster, and they never clean up after their dogs. I have seen people let their dogs poop in the playground areas and not clean it up. Management enforces nothing. If you come to the office to report something a neighbor is doing, the response is always, if we don't catch them at it, you need to follow them back to their building and find out what number they live in. They will try to charge a whole building for grounds problems one or two dead-beats cause. There are parasite infestations being passed around the complex. Many tenets have children with head lice they refuse to treat. My kids contracted it twice in three months from other tenets kids. I have seen many exterminators bringing heat-tents to exterminate bed bugs. If you are on the ground level, be prepared for ants. You are not allowed to use anything but the store-bought ant houses that the local species ignore. They will have maintenance spray the walls outside, but the nests are in the walls between units and they will come up through the kitchen walls. We were bleaching our counter-tops nightly and we would still have trails of ants across the counter in the morning. Everything here is built as cheaply as possible. The toilets will have the porcelain inside the sump flake off and block the flapper, and both toilets in your unit can and will clog simultaneously if the sewer system is experiencing too heavy a load from the building. The walls are poorly insulated and you can hear every sound your neighbor makes. The power sockets will occasionally melt an appliance adapter, and burn marks can be seen in many of the outlets in many apartments. The smoke alarms to not detect Co2, they detect changes in oxygen levels, which means if your kid needs a humidifier because they have a cold, the smoke alarms will go off. They have a pool, which you will pay extra for, but it is closed more often than it is open because the plumbing they installed is WAY to small to handle the load of people who use it. Do not rent here. It has not been worth the almost three years of headache and the management does not care about anything but how much money they can get out of you.
