Current renter here. These apartments are someone's passive income and that's it. There's no proactive attitude to create a community or improve the property. THe apartments in general are "average". Shop around, but no big deal if you end up here. Noise is not usually a problem, except for the traffic on 400 E which isn't the apartment's fault. Management has been good about responding to noise complaints. It's hard to leave the East entrance because college kids use the street for their daily parking. Grounds are sparse, but clean. Lots of puddles that never really dry up... not sure why they don't get fixed. Apple trees are not pruned (except by me) and drop apples on the sidewalk which get tracked inside. Maintenance is responsive, but they are absolutely determined to get unsupervised access to apartments. No appointments allowed. They probably just don't want to interact with residents while they fix stuff, but it's unnerving. I feel like they want to snoop for things they can bill me for. The gym needs to be renovated and expanded and they need another hot tub. The pool and hot tub are frequently closed / broken / occupied by weirdos. Pet fees are pretty extreme. Non-refundable deposit and pet rent are hundreds of dollars per year for a cat. Ridiculous. My cat is cleaner than some of the residents. All those hundreds of dollars and they still don't have public garbage cans.
