Lived at jamespoint since july 2016, it's gone downhill since highmark bought the property. magmnt has always been a revolving door, no accountability. The complex is the 30+ years old, wood is visibly rotting, birds and Hornets are besting in dryer vents. I've dealt with bugs for so long I haven't been able to use the bedroom. Karen (current mgr) is apathetic. My dachshund was attacked by another dog, her response 'the owners called and apologized" seriously? The fridge is 30 years old, maintenance superglued the gasket that seals the fridge. I had to contact jamespointe corp office to get water damaged balcony repaired, fireplace, and ruined Thanksgiving turkey to finally get 30 year old range replaced. Cabinets are worn, flaking, water damage inside and out is painted over, some balconys are sagging due to age and water damage. Dont take my word for it, drive through and see the buildings close to imploding like matchsticks because of warped water damaged wood siding. The carpet in some breezeway have huge mold stain from excessive water leaks. People leave mattresses and furniture by dumpsters that sit for months. Mgmnt arbitrarily charges residents for the abandoned furniture whether the resident left it by dumpsters. Doesn't matter the lease states breed restrictions, there are great Danes, pit bulls and the dog poop is disgusting. On sidewalks, steps from being tracked in. If you get bugs, don't expect karen to do much, I went through 3 containers of bug spray in a week. Maintenance doesn't call before stopping by, when I advised karen to let maintenance/pest control know to wear feet and face coverings, she used that as a reason pest control couldn't stop by. Really, with covid and all that's going on. Friends moved out and charged for carpet cleaning, I actually saw the carpet tossed and flooring replaced with laminate. To get anything done you have to talk to Barb, she's been the ONLY consistent staff since moving here. She's business and actually has does what she says, follows up, actually seems to care about residents. If you do lease, TAKE PICS AT MOVE IN AND MOVE OUT, keep records of correspondence.
