Resident 2010

12/3/2010

I think at first glance, this apartment complex is disgusting. It's not very well lit and little kids and adults both leave their things everywhere like it's normal. We don't get a lot of noise EXCEPT for the little kids running around without parent supervision almost 24/7 it seems. (Currently it's June and this was a problem even before school let out.) They are always outside playing and screaming. No joke, it drives me crazy and they run up and down the stair wells yelling, too. The internet is included with the rent, however it's very spotty and almost everyday we had a glitch lasting from 5 minutes to several hours where it was completely unavailable. The water pressure isn't anything special in the bathroom, and we've had to have the faucet fixed once already. We also do not have a garbage disposal or a dishwasher (same with all the other units). We went and bought a The oven isn't great, but it works. I don't really care for the neighborhood. I think maybe six neighbors in the complex speak good English, but the people are nice. However, I do love the interior of our apartment. It is roomy and overall quiet from neighbor's noises. We have a new heater and our utilities are lower for both gas and electric ($40-60 a month). We do keep our windows and blinds open quite a bit without privacy worries. We only have two neighbors so I don't know what it would be like to have surrounding neighbors and extra noise. The parking situation is quite nice. We don't have to worry about finding parking or parking far away from the stairs. There is also a parking area behind the complex. The laundry facilities aren't bad. They are steep in price but they always work, and I have never had a problem finding an open washer or dryer (I avoid doing laundry in the early morning and on Saturdays). The paint is newer and the carpets and floors are nice. It has a good floorplan and it has a ton of storage space with a large kitchen also. The management is wonderful in maintenance requests with being prompt and accurate, which is a nice change. The on site manager is a BYU student and he does take pride in the complex! They did mess up once on our rent and claimed that they had stopped by the apartment to contact us (saying they hadn't received a payment), but we didn't get any notes on our door or emails. We finally received a phone call from the office saying we hadn't paid, and we got it straightened out...the woman doing the payments cashed our check but didn't record it, apparently. Pets aren't allowed. There are two and three bedroom floor plans, one bathroom. $640/month for 2 bedroom. Deposit is something like $575.
