I wish I could give zero stars. This place is absolutely horrible. I lived at Calloway for only four months, and it was the worst rental experience I have ever had. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Within my first week, my locked bicycle was stolen from my private parking stall. I called the office, and they couldn't have cared less. So the security sucks. The walls in the apartments are incredibly thin and you can hear EVERYTHING from any neighboring apartment, especially if you're on the ground floor. If you pay for external storage, be prepared to RARELY get into it. Only the staff have keys and you can only get in during office hours or before dark, apparently. Even then, some of the girls in the office gripe about having to unlock it for you, if you ask them. I kept a small trash can on my patio for dog poop disposal (you know, to keep things clean) and I was fined $50 dollars by the management because apparently that's not allowed--never once did I receive a warning. The laundry machines are ALWAYS out of order, so you might as well go off-site to do laundry. It also seemed that every time I complained about a problem I was having with the complex, people, or if I ever questioned an unwarranted fine posted on my door, the very next day I would receive another one. They seem to target people that they can't scam out of more money. I was so fed up and miserable with living there that I broke my lease early. When I informed Callaway that I would be moving out, they wouldn't let me pay to break my lease, so I took it upon myself to find a new tenant to cover the rest of my lease. When I asked if they would at least show interested renters my apartment before signing them over to a completely new one, they said, "that's not our job." Actually...it is, and it would be a kindness so they are't forcing me to pay rent on two places now. But, with absolutely no help from the office and the (very) rude girls that work there, I was able to sublet the apartment within a week after I moved out. However, Callaway refused to accept the new application for the tenants and forced me to stay on the lease so they could continually hassle me with emails, notices, etc. Now they are threatening to evict the new tenants (after they've been living there and paying rent for three months) and take me to small claims court because they wouldn't let me sublet the apartment, even though I did all the work for them to get someone in there and ensure they were never out of rent for the remainder of my lease. Callaway is full of the most rude, unprofessional and selfish people I have ever encountered. Worst apartment complex. My advice: look elsewhere for housing. DO NOT LIVE HERE
