Mark Twain Apartments

My wife and I were planning on moving into the Mark Twain apartments and had everything packed and ready to move. When we were about to hand over the check for the first month's rent we were told that we had to pay an additional $300 for our cat that we had brought with us. I told the woman that we had never been told this and that we had in writing the amount that was due upon signing (they knew about the cat when they drafted up the original amount). She ignored the agreement that we all had signed earlier that month and said that the representative that had drafted the papers had made a mistake and that she would not honor the original agreement. The woman was very stubborn and wouldn't budge an inch stating that "it was company policy and that she couldn't make an exception." I'm glad they made an exception to break their own agreement with us. She originally wasn't going to refund my deposit because the 72 hour grace period had passed but she was forced to give it back when I brought it to her attention that I was never notified that there had been an error. I did not receive my application fee back. All in all, the Mark Twain apartments has very rude, unprofessional managers, that will break their own rules and not honor their own documents that they have personally signed. Please avoid a headache and go elsewhere.
