I don't always put stock in these reviews because you always end up with the malcontents. That said, my experience was also not spectacular. The office closes at 5pm M-F, and you can't sign your lease on the weekends. I had just taken a new job, had no leave, and because of the office hours I had to take off work one morning to go and get everything squared away. Not a big thing, and I didn't really think about it at that time, but it is just the first drop in the bucket that reflects the lack of customer service skills present here. True, the apartments on my side (6715 Tower Dr) are older and over painted, but I didn't expect luxury for the price. What really woke me up and caused me to change my opinion of the apartment community (management particularly) was when I had 3 instances of water backup. Somewhere along the drainage system for the kitchen (drains my kitchen and the 2 apartments above me) there would be a clog, or who knows what, and water would begin to come back up the pipe. The water rose up in my mechanical closet, came up out of my kitchen sink, and finally ended up on the floor. After the 3rd time I decided this was not some random occurance, this was a problem. I informed management and asked for a transfer to an apartment w/out these difficulties. I was told, "This is normal for our bottom level apartments." Every instance of water flooding that I have heard of (and which could not be fixed by turning off your water) has been b/c of mother nature; this is not. They did tell me that I could move to the next level of apartment, but there would be no special consideration nor any attempt to diagnose the real problem. And with this year's 8% rent increase I really couldn't justify staying here. On top of that, I could hear every step of the occupants above me and I could hear the little kid screaming in the apartment next door (all the time I might add). Bottom line: I didn't expect much and I would have continued to put up everything else, but when I was told that occasional water flooding was normal and that there was nothing further they would do, I realized there is simply a lack of customer service; and that can make or break your experience at any apartment.
