Glebe House Apartments
Resident · 2014 - 2015
I have been a resident for over 10 months now. I am not leaving this place anytime soon.. I just love the place. Pros: - This is the biggest pro according to me - EXCELLENT STAFF in the leasing office, I would give 100/100 for them. They are the nicest and honest people. They send gentle reminders if I receive a package and don't pick it up in 2 days. They provide vacuum cleaners for few hours to clean our apartment. Any issue with the apartment, they fix it very quickly. The fridge was making some noise, I sent them a complaint, the next day, when I came back from the office, they replaced it with a brand new fridge and put all the food items as they were into the fridge. - Very flexible lease and after the end of lease you can go month by month. Very much affordable application fee and security deposit. - No complaints about people in the other apartments, it is mostly quiet. You barely see other people. - Rent inclusive of water, electricity and gas bill. What else can you ask for! - Free cable TV, 3 month membership at YMCA near by. - A huge mall near-by which has everything(Target, Shoppers, Barnes and Noble, food courts, movie theaters..), Del ray community is also quite close, and right next to McD and 7-Eleven. - Good security to the buildings, never saw anyone coming inside the building without a security card. Parking lots are not dark, they have put very very bright lights, so absolutely safe. - Eventhough the apartments are old, no single bug or insect or rodent in the apartments, they maintain it very neatly. - Nice trial near by, perfect for some exercise in summer. Kids playing near school near by in the evenings. - I haven't tried, but I saw some buses and bus stops near the apartment. - Very close to DC and DCA airport, not too far from highways. - Business center has computers, printers, internet, soda machines, cable ready TV, laundry and driers. -You can pay your rent with a credit card. -The heater and the AC both work really well. I had to add this because the place where I used to live before, they always had issues with the heater. Cons: -Neighborhood is not bad, I always parked in apartment parking, so I never had issues with theft or anything. One night, I was coming back from a 7-Eleven nearby, there were some teens shouting loudly and roaming around. Safety and neighborhood.. I would give 3 stars. -Purchase your own internet. They have one in the building but it wont be good enough if you stay in the highest level. -Kitchen is small, especially in the studio(obviously). -Parking space is limited, if you arrive after 7 PM, you mostly will be parking on the street. -Apartments are quite old, the bathroom and especially the faucet in the bathroom made me feel like I was living in 1950s. -Metro station is not within a walkable distance. Final word: If you are looking for apartments with latest features and cool stuff, this place is not for you. If you prefer peace, this place is definitely for you. I would suggest this place to anyone who is a student/young working individual who would like to have a quiet, clean and peaceful place to sleep everyday without having to worry about the apartment.
