Security Severely Lacking - Not Safe

I have been here at the Beacon for about four years now. They have done some upgraded halls and carpets to give the building an updated fresh look so I give them that. Building grounds are well kept, maintenance folks are nice and responsive. However the security is severely lacking which is truly sad. Recently 16 or so (June 15th) vehicles were vandalized, thieves rammed the gate and and broken into 16 cars (Hondas) by braking the drivers side window and stealing airbags. The thieves targeted Hondas, fortunately I was not in town. This occurred literally after I left. I was not notified my car was not broken into. The building or managers have no empathy and have not reached out to me to let me know how I can be accommodated for my troubles. I was probably better off parking my car on the street and saving money. As a single woman this is a great concern. They are severely lacking in security, there has been broken entrance door handles, broken garage door entrances and now this huge theft that has recently occurred. I'm very grateful I was not present, when the theft occurred and happy to hear no one was hurt. I do find it very unnerving that so many cars were broken into and not one thing was caught on camera. I was told they were only able to get the color of the vehicle, no plates which means security cameras are lacking and there are no security guards on the premises. The building has greatly changed, and I will not be renewing my lease as I do not feel in my humble opinion that safety is not The Beacons priority. If this were true, I would have received a call from the building manager or general manager about what occurred and what are next steps. Instead I returned to my car exposed with a broken window, not the best way to be welcomed. I had to call them down to get the detectives information and report number two weeks after the incident. They really need to step up security before someone gets hurt. I do not feel safe here with whats happened with my car and the lack of support, customer service and empathy from management. They have no problem immediately contacting you to let you know your rent is due or if you're late but will not inform you with serious occurrences such as this. Give your residents some grace as these are some trying times, show some appreciation for their business and show that you care. A little customer service goes a long way. Do better, reach out to everyone impacted and let them know how you will accommodate them for their troubles. Respectfully Submitted Beacon Resident
