I lived at DA for three years. This was my 3rd time back in DC area. I was super-impressed. Rent ws very reasonable for location and transit access. Parking is provided in cost of aprtment. Though older, the DA is maintained in an outstanding manner and any maintenance issue was always addressed promptly and professionally. It is also more spacious, I believe, than a "newer" Absolutely no complaints on that score. As a sidenote to the "older" description, the buildings are built solidly when buildings were built with some pride, and consequently, noise is really muted compared to "new" construction with its basic studs and sheetrock. The staff was always helpful and able to answer any sort of question. The supervisor, Mr. C, was friendly and always interested in making sure things were OK. The fact he lives on the property increases his knowledge of and role within the complex. The icing on the cake is the availability to transportation. 2 different bus options are just out front--Metro and ART. Heading east, both go to Pentagon Metro subway station or Pentagon City subway station. Both stops are within 20 minute walk with one of the best views of Washington, DC you'll get anywhere. Heading west, the bus routes cover a good portion of Northern Virginia. I wholeheartedly recommend the Dorchester to my friends (some of whom chose to stay there) and i do so to any of you out there reading my review.
