Good things - the location is good, and maintenance and the front office are very responsive. They have nice events with perks for the residents a few times a year (free food, drink, etc.) But overall, I don't think Park Adams delivers enough to make the price worth it. One of the greatest amenities they pitched when I was moving in was a pool - which has not yet been open this summer, citing a variety of contractor/technical issues. These are of course not the renter's problem, so long as we continue to be charged rent that factors that amenity in. Despite this 5-week delay in opening the pool, they have somehow found the labor and money to pour money into superficial updates like elevator cladding that I assume benefit their recruitment efforts, more than current residents. For months, the front door that opens on the main street (Adams) was not locking; it simply was open even at 3 a.m. That's a major security liability. This is supposedly an old-building issue, and that may be true, but also notable is the fact that for several weeks in the spring and fall, we swelter before they turn the air on, or after they turn it off. Boiler or no, Arlington's weather is just too variable in the middling months anymore to make this a reasonable way to live. If you have a dog, know that it will be alone in a 90 degree apartment for at least a couple weeks every spring and fall while you're at work, before/after the A/C is flipped for the season. Plus, they raised my rent this year - a lot. For the price you pay here, I'd look elsewhere. I'll move on when this lease is up.
