I have had a horrible experience with Park Georgetown. From the very beginning they have nickel and dimed us and made our lives hell. The staff was rude, unresponsive, and completely unhelpful when we've had questions or asked for help. The laundry is expensive and often broken, the apartment is ugly and overpriced, and everything about the online payment system and laundry card system is, in my opinon, antiquated and inconvenient. Furthermore, they are charging us almost $4,000 for our sh*tty apartment because we gave them 30 days head notice that we are not renewing our lease rather than 60 days. They said they gave us a 'courtesy email' about the need for 60 days' notice, but it was at the bottom of an email about an unrelated topic - in my opinion, they seem to have purposefully hid that note. As a result, they are charging us an exorbitant amount for a 1-month lease because we gave them one month's notice as opposed to two. I spoke with a housing attorney and he said that no one would consider that to be appropriate notice. This is my third apartment in the DMV area and by far the worst experience I've had. DO NOT LIVE HERE! EDIT: Feel like I should have the opportunity to respond to the reply to my review. The claim that they "tried to reach out to us several times" about renewal is false. I got no personal emails, and when I search all of the emails from Park Georgetown about renewal since I arrived, I see ONE email, sent to all residents. The email was not directly about the 60-day-notice, that part was embedded in the final paragraph. The first half of the email is all about a transportation survey for residents. As mentioned, when I spoke to a housing attorney he said that would not be considered fair notice. He also mentioned that most landlords would have let the 30 days' notice slide, but it seems that ours are particularly difficult to work with. I would agree! I don't know what letter she is referring to - since our mailbox was also broken we weren't able to rely on it as well.
