I lived in Randolph Towers years ago, but look back at the experience as one that was pleasant. I lived in a 2br/2b with a roommate. The apt was conducive to the set up as he was on one end and I was on the other, with the living and dining area between as well as kitchen.
PROS
- Location, location, location! Walking distance to 2 metros as well as a myriad of recreational activities
- Unit size; 2br/2ba 1200 sq ft apt w/ washer/dryer in unit, high-rise balcony, and adequate parking.
- Hot Neighbors :-) ; Okay, so this can be found "anywhere" but it's always great to have some good eye-candy traipsing about the building. Lots of fresh college grads, interns, and single 20/30 somethings.
- Closet space; those jokers were HUGE!
CONS
- Traffic noise; my apt was on the 15th floor, but the traffic on 9th and Randolph sounded like it was driving by right outside my window
- Old appliances (may have been rectified); the washing machine, and kitchen appliances were rather dated when lived here.
- Faux Security; Despite the front-desk attendant, they really don't keep tabs on who comes and goes.
- Visitor Parking; requires tokens to get into the lot as well as a paper parking pass from the front desk. Depending on who's working, you may or may not get one. Kind of frustrating since on-street parking is a little aggravating.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend Randolph Towers....to someone who realizes this is pretty much the "Freshman Dorm" in North Arlington. Definitely not for someone who has a problem with street or hallway noise, children, or expects a suburban apt experience.
