I moved into Windsor May 15, 2000. The apartments are pricey, but I suppose that´s because of the close proximity to the "main drag" of Shirlington. To be fair, there are several nice places to eat nearby as well as the great cinema right down the block.

The accomdations are definately above average. Right before my roommate and I moved in, they replaced all the carpet and re-tiled the kitchen and bathroom -- which was a nice gesture.

I only have a few real "knocks" against life here at Windsor: 1) the freaking dogs that bark and howl several hours of the day & night; 2) the screaming drone of the leaf-blower brigade during the Fall season at 8am on Saturday mornings; 3) mysterious miasmas of stenches that hover over random portions of the premises; 4) several tenants who refuse to obey their leases (e.g. letting their kids bicycle around the grounds, not cleaning up after their dogs, having all sorts of garbage hanging off their balconies); 5) no quick & easy access to the Metro.

Overall, it´s been a pleasant two years. After a while, cursing the dogs´ barking becomes a game: see who can come up with the most "creative" curse and just laugh the aggravation away. Well, all dogs aside, nothing tops the four-day stretch of construction work that entailed sawing concrete for hours on end TEN FEET from the apartment´s front door. I haven´t felt such homicidal rage since...

But, overall, it´s been a pleasant two years. :-)
