As a government professional with a spouse and small child, I found Clarendon Centre an excellent place for a short-term stay due to its excellent location. The complex meets the Temporary Quarters Subsistence Expense Allowance (TQSE), for the first 30 days for my agency. It is too expensive for what it offers for the long term.

Equity Corporate Housing was easy to deal with, and the building managment was fine, exept for Kristos, who was "Absolutely Fabulous." Management does try to encourage socializing with happy hours and breakfasts, which is difficult due to the fact that the building is split between short-termers like me, young couples, and students and new grads doubling and tripling up.

Fit and finish are pretty cheap, but consistent with vacation condos I have rented in Florida and Arizona. It's a rental property, not someone's home. The first day I found some items such as bathroom doors and sinks that needed work, but the repairs were completed within 24 hours.

That said, if you have $2,700 a month to rent a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, you should be renting (or buying) a condo or townhouse in Clarendon. The high prices DO keep out frat-boys, stoners, Section 8 recipients, and other types of low-budget renters that tend to make a community diffucult to live in.

I lived on the 6th floor and it's fine-I don't know what the previous poster is talking about.

Parking is tight, but my car was delivered to a handicapped spot and sat there for two weeks without being towed, so there you have it. Yes, there is no guest parking, but there is no free parking anywhere in Clarendon.

Henry Clay and Lyon Park both have great playgrounds for small kids and are within walking distance.

If you do decide to rent here, you should avoid the construction on the Highland Street side and try to get above the traffic noise by going to the 6th floor and up. Unfortunately, you can't avoid the firehouse noise. Finally, prices from Equity come out from the main office on Tuesdays, so that is the day to find your apartment at your price.
