Hello. My name is Tonya and I am the Customer Advocate for Archstone. I wanted to apologize for the concerns and frustrations you experienced. As this review was posted anonymously, we would like to talk in greater detail about your specific concerns so we may address them thoroughly and appropriately. When you have some time, please call 703-418-1000 or stop by the office and ask for Damon, Community Manager. In regards to the elevators, we have not heard of any problems. However, we will check each of them and make sure they are in proper working order. We want to look into the leaks that you mentioned and fix the problem once we have an opportunity to talk with you. Dominion, power company, did require us to turn off the power in the north tower in November so they could do some repairs. Notifications were sent out to residents a week prior to the outage. We would like to confirm your contact information is correct. Please contact the office at your convenience so we can ensure to address all your concerns and verify your contact information. Itâ??s important to us that residents have a positive and pleasant living experience and we work together if this is not the case. Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. Water Park Towers Manager

Thank you for sharing your feedback. As of 2/27/13, our community is now managed by Equity Residential, and the team and I at Water Park Towers are looking forward to using the information in these reviews to grow, make changes, and improve our community for everyone. We have been going through a major pool deck renovation project, which includes water-proofing the pool deck and doing a complete landscape/pool renovation. We are hoping to have the project completed in May or June. We are very excited about the renovations, since it will give residents access to the outside grilling area year round (in the past, it has only been available to residents when the pool is open in the summer). I hope to have a confirmed date of when this project will be completed by April 15th. During this project, and due to construction safety, we had to close one of the entrances to the garage, but residents are still able to access the garage on the north tower entrance side. The drainage issue you refer to has been fixed, and the lobby ceiling was repaired and back to normal within a week. Utilities are shared, meaning that bills are calculated by square footage and the number of leaseholders. We have been working toward educating residents on conservation since it does take a group effort to reduce the utility costs. If you are having problems with ventilation, our service team can open the intake vent more to increase the amount of outside air that is let into the apartment. Hello.  I am Tonya, Customer Advocate for Archstone, and I am sorry for the frustrations you have experienced with the noise.  I can understand how the noise from the demolition can be unpleasant as it is definitely a noisy process.  The project is scheduled to be complete by early spring.  The renovation will include a year round open deck for grilling and landscaping around the deck.  There is a rough sketch of the area in the lobby.  Damon, Community Manager, has sent out communications and will continue to keep residents informed of the progress.  We do apologize for the inconvenience and frustrations this has caused.  Please know that we do our best to provide a positive living experience for residents.  Please contact the office with questions and concerns as we want to ensure to address them and offer solutions that will work best for you.  Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Thank you for taking the time to submit your comments regarding your utilities while living here at Water Park Towers. I am the Community Manager and want to apologize for your experience. I can understand how frustrating it can be when you feel that your utility costs are not in your direct control. I did want to address your concerns regarding the utilities and renewal process. Unfortunately this building is not sub-metered to the individual apartments so in order to allocate the proper utility costs we use a formula that takes into account your apartment size and number of people living there. Your previous apartments may have had individual meters. Our utilities are measured across several different meters that service the building and of course from several utility providers. We do subtract and pay utilities for all of the common areas including hallways, amenity spaces and vacant apartments. These calculations are tedious and are best done by an organization that specializes in this type of work. We do believe it is the best way to provide an individual utility billing for each apartment. I would be happy to review with you in more detail exactly how you utilities are calculated. Additionally I am available to discuss your lease renewal. I am willing to work with you to find the best rates possible. As this review is written anonymously I would ask that you please contact any member of our team so we can discuss your concerns further. Thank you.
