I've lived here close to a year and have two major complaints: when my lease renewal came in, it had gone up $300 a month! The agent said this was "negotiable" but who knows what that really means. I'm currently paying $2300 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment and the only reason I'm paying so much is because of the great Metro location. The other huge, major gripe - the way they partition their utilities. I don't know if this is a common practice but my previous two apts in the area were not like this. Their utilities (electricity, water, gas, sewer) for the ENTIRE COMPLEX is bundled together and then averaged out to the different units based on number of occupants and square footage. Because of this bundling, you have to go through a service provider - who demands a $5 "service charge" for paying your bill. Thanks but no thanks. I don't need to spend $60 a year on something I can do myself. The biggest annoyance though is the fact that technically I'm paying the utility bill for the complex, i.e. a/c in hallway, electricity, etc, as well as being punished for my neighbors inefficiency and the fact they leave their stuff running continuously. This means your utilities are extremely high and there's nothing you can do about it. before moving here, I never had an electricity bill above $70-80 a month. Here, I've never had electricity below $100. For a single person. I'm getting frustrated just thinking about it. This place is fine for what it is but definitely not worth the price. Which is why I'm moving.
