Good Starter Apartment
I lived in Westgate for 2 years. I recommend living on the side of Georgetown Road because you have tons of available parking and if safety is a concern, you can park and walk directly to your building instead of into the inner part of the apt. complex (although it is well lighted.) The first year I lived here, I had absolutely no noise issues. My neighbors next to me this year had arguments constantly, but after speaking with them, they both have gotten very quiet. I trust that if I had further problems, the management would have helped me resolve the noise issue with my neighbors. They are very nice. I work from my apartment so the noise level is very important to me. The apartment isn't anything fancy, but its what you would expect for this price range in Charlottesville. Utilities are included. If you live on a ground level apartment, I'd recommend getting a dehumidifier. Snow removal was quick. Maintenance guys were so nice and very quick. In fact I can remember 2 times when I called the office and the guys were knocking at my door within minutes of me getting off the phone. This would be a good place for students and people just starting out. One reason I picked Westgate was because I had two cats. You have to pay a pet deposit fee, but a lot of apartments make you pay an initial fee plus monthly fees. Internet service was only $15/month. Also, it's a 10 minute drive to PVCC, and about 10-15 minute drive to UVA depending on traffic. CTS bus stops are right at corner of Hydraulic and Georgetown.Share This Review
