I've enjoyed living at East Meadow. The apts. are the biggest in the area and have very nice touches (wallpaper in the kitchen and bathroom, English tile, floor-to-ceiling windows, etc.). As other reviewers have said, the parking is great! Always plenty of spaces. The complex is a bit old, which means repairs are needed more often, but the maintenance staff respond quickly to requests. I too was shocked by the huge increases in rent each year over the past two years, but I talked with friends who lived in other complexes and they all said that they experienced a leap in rent as well. So I chalk it up to the incredible spike in real estate that we've had in the DC area.

The only problem that I had at East Meadow was when I first moved in - the apt. had the worst cockroach infestation I've ever seen in my life. It made me wonder about the prior residents, how they must've lived. I raised a ruckus and the staff responded very quickly at first, but then became complacent about helping me get rid of the roaches. I had to contact the regional office to get their attention back. After that, the staff worked diligently to get rid of the roaches and I haven't had any since. I haven't had a single problem with any of the staff since then either.

I do recommend this apt. complex. When I stopped at East Meadow in the middle of my apt. hunt, the manager confidently said, "You'll be back." She was right.
