Thank you for your residency and review of The Loraine. While the restaurant patrons do have access to the main level for the use of restrooms, their access is restricted only to that level. A fob is required to start The Loraine's elevator as well as enter the stairwell. Still, we strongly advise residents against allowing unknown persons without a fob to enter along with them. The use of the fob system does also make it more challenging for parcel carriers to deliver packages to upper level doors, but we have found residents prefer the peace of mind. Please contact us or your delivery provider to discuss ways of a more suitable method of drop-off. Many residents prefer requiring a signature, for example. We take your concerns very seriously and would like to discuss them with you directly, so please contact our office at (757) 352-2244. Please know that we value our residents and their feedback. I can certainly understand your frustration with the elevator temporarily being out of service. Shortly after discovering the problem yesterday afternoon, a technician arrived to begin the repairs. Please know, that there is a loading zone at the side entrance of our building that you are welcome to use for unloading groceries. If you are parking in a garage more than two blocks from our building, please contact me immediately so that we may have you assigned to the garage where our residents are provided spaces. Yes, several Managers from our sister properties have worked at The Loraine, prior to my arrival. Having worked at my previous community for nearly seven years, I understand the benefits of having long-term staff members and it is my intention to stay at The Loraine for quite some time. Thank you for your review. You've made a very good point regarding the several recent staff changes. Having just started this month as the new Property Manager, I will be sure to formally introduce myself, our new leasing agent and new service manager to our residents. Regarding parking, the recent surge in Downtown Norfolk's growth has made unreserved parking more challenging, however the City does offer reserved parking spaces to our residents for an additional monthly fee. To clarify, your electricity is provided through Dominion Power. Your monthly utility bill is sent from our utility management company and includes the billing of five different utilities that are provided through the City of Norfolk, Dominion Power and Virginia Natural Gas. Several of the issues you mentioned are ones I'm not familiar with but certainly items that we can immediately work to resolve. You also discussed not being able to locate former staff members on-site. From my first day as Property Manager, I've been committed to changing that.
