BUYER BEWARE would be my advice to anyone that is considering living here. In early May, we were asked to send in a "$900 security deposit" before we signed a lease for an apartment that we would be getting in the middle of July. Big mistake sending that in. At the end of May, after the required cashiers check was cleared, we then got the 28 page lease (not numbered so that they could add additional pages at their will...and that you the tenant would be bound by) that basically gives the landlord the ability to require a potential blank check from a potential tenant. Surprised about all the new fees and potential add on charges, we even flew out from Michigan to find out more about the lease. We went to Banbury and met with the manager who then redefined our security deposit, called it a holding fee. Then she told us that if we would not follow through with the lease we would lose our $900 security deposit (which she had renamed a holding fee). Note that it is still almost a month and a half from when we actually would be starting our lease and they currently have a renter there. During our meeting she assured us that the many potential add on fees are not really passed on. However, when we hesitated and stated that we might not follow through on the lease due to all the potential additional fees, she told us that we would lose our $900 security deposit. Many of the additional fees were for items that landlords usually provide. Note that during our discussion she assured us that all these potential hidden charges would not really apply. However, when we were looking at not signing the lease, all of a sudden the hidden caveats did apply. Now a security deposit was redefined as a holding fee....and holding fees could be kept in their entirety after 72 hours. The list of potential fees is too long to write here. Previous reviewers state that the pricing changes. In the short time that we dealt with the front office, our pricing was changed three times. Walking into the model apartment, we smelled mold. The hanging rods in the closet were rusty from moisture. If this is the model apartment, one can only imagine what the tenant would actually get. This is not a reputable place to work with. I could never recommend anyone living here. If this is what they do before you move in, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to actually live there. NEVER GIVE MONEY TO THIS PLACE UNTIL YOU CAREFULLY READ THE ACTUAL LEASE.
