First, I'm going to get the positive points out of the way: It's close to buslines, community center, and mini mart. And if it's your thing, there are also a lot of gangs, drug dealers, and prostitutes.

Which segue's into why this place should be scheduled for demolition...My wife and I were all set (with a moving van ready and everything) to move in on the day that they told us our place would be ready, so I called the office to tell them we were on our way and guess what? Oh, our place wouldn't be ready for A WEEK. They had all of my contact information and yet they never bothered to call me.

When we did finally move in, the place was infested with cockroaches. The management actually had an exterminator out there twice, in a timely manner, though the problem was never 100% remedied.

The common walls separating the apartments were hollow, and provided no sound insulation from the neighbors. I put up with loud music on many occasions. One time in the middle of a weeknight, I went out to the hall to find the neighbors front door wide open, the apartment completely deserted except for a baby in a baby carrier in the middle of the apartment. I reached in, turned the blaring stereo off, and returned to my apartment to call the police. It was an hour before the neighbors actually returned.

The security "pager" that they give you is a joke. I never once got a response from them. So, I had the local police on my speed dial, because I saw fights from my window, HEARD fights in ajacent apartments, and have been in many confrontations myself. If you like pizza, you'll have to pick it up; most of the local pizza places do not deliver here for safety reasons. My wife had also started to develop panic attacks while we lived here, something that has taken her years to finally get over.

Apartments (some of which I'm SURE were meth labs) were always catching on fire. The smell of ammonia wafts through the air. The sidewalks are cracked and flood often. The mailboxes are a hassle and usually damaged. The trash areas are constantly overflowing. The laundry facilities are in a constant state of disrepair, and management will not refund for undried/unwashed loads.

The parking is a nightmare you will never wake up from. Expect to drive around for awhile while trying to find a spot... sometimes you might be parking on the opposite end of the complex.

The straw that broke the camel's back was when I asked security where I could park my car, they told me it was ok to park in an alleyway, as long as cars could easily get by. So I parked there. The next day my car was gone, impounded by the management, EVEN THOUGH I HAD A PARKING STICKER! When I went to the managers, they told me I had parked in a yellow zone. The curb next to it was very obviously painted THAT DAY with a spray can (even the grass was painted). I felt this was completely out of line, since they never seem to tow people that park in front of fire hydrants or people without parking permits.

Because of all the run-ins I had with the management, they've put a black mark on my rental history that remains to this day. Even with the changeover to Pinnacle Management, Vintage Park/Seahurst Village is an awful place to live, and needs to be condemned.
