Resident 2012 - 2016

2/4/2019

I lived at Pacific Park from 2012-2016, while finishing up college. The only reason I lived there for so long was because it was a convenient, cheap location for a college student (back then). If I could do it all over I'd avoid this place. It is one of the dirtiest complexes I've ever lived in. Several times I'd come into my building and there would be garbage all over the stairs and hall, and at its worst, someone had throw up on the staircase and ripped a bannister off the wall. Maintenance didn't clean up anything for a couple of days (disgusting). Let's rewind a little. When I first moved in, my dishwasher drain quit working, resulting in stagnant water just sitting there. It took maintenance several days to remove the old dishwasher and install a new one, and I had to resort to panning out the stagnant water myself to avoid a hazard. Speaking of hazards, they have a huge mold problem. Washington has a lot of rain, so while mold isn't new, but it was terrible here. I constantly had to clean off the window sills and sliding glass door to keep black mold from spreading. Now let's talk about the noise. At the time, I was a 22yr old college student that was working full time, so wasn't at home often. Somehow I managed to get a noise complaint from "several units" and issued a warning for being too loud. Not sure how that was even possible since I was never home, and when I was I'd be studying or sleeping. In actuality, the noise was coming from my next door neighbor. They'd slam the toilet seat all throughout the night and stomp around, which resulted in them getting evicted shortly after. I never got an apology for getting a noise complaint. There were also kids that always ran down the hallway, which you could hear while trying to sleep. Safety? What safety? The complex is on 99, which is historically trash anywhere along it. Things started getting more sketchy when they put in a public health center across the street. That's when the car prowling started. I don't keep anything in my car so I never worried about a break in, but I was always concerned about the poor lighting in the community, especially as a small female. It started to feel unsafe the last few months I lived there, and they started having a security patrol car to deter car prowlers. Finally, one time I tried to pay my rent. I handed them a check like I did every other month before, and later somehow ended up with a notice that I hadn't paid my rent so owed a late fee. I spoke to the leasing office and they told me they couldn't cash the check because my signature was blocking the routing number and the bank wouldn't take it....I paid my rent all months/years before the same way, every month, signing the same way, without issue...that is until this one time. They refused to remove the late fee, and never even tried to reach out to notify me of the "bank" issue until I did my own investigating. That was towards the end of my lease, and suffice it to say...I no longer and will never live there ever again. AVOID...unless you want to live in a moldy dumpster...then it's the place for you!
