PRICE GOUGING, DOG POO, TIRED INTERIORS AND CHEAP MAINTENANCE are the three main detractors from what could be one of the nicest complexes in the area. Tammy in the office is great and Jake the maintenance guy is wonderful, but they are the victims of a cheap and uncaring management company, ESRing. After two years in our townhome with modest rent increases, we wanted to go onto a month-to-month rental while looking for a single family home rental in the area (not an easy process here). From a $1650 p/m rental on an annual lease, they offered us a 13 month renewal at $1740 or a month-to-month of $2900 !!!!!!!! No, I did not make an error..$2900. What utter bulls**t!. This is price gouging and my first thought was "this can't be legal". Faced with no choice, we signed up for a year. The interior of our townhome is very tired and worn and the appliances seem like they are from the 1950's. The dryer has broken four times since we have been here and the refrigerator is small and inefficient. We asked for carpets to be replaced and counters, sink and backsplashes refinished upon renewal and all were initially denied, except for the offer of a carpet clean (which was useless and stunk up the home with a cheap perfume smell for weeks). We also eventually got a sink refinish with a 10 buck tin of sink paint, probably from Home Depot. I feel bad for Jake the maintenance guy being unable to provide a service commensurate with his professionalism and friendliness due to the ESRing Management. The grounds are well kept except for the dog poo. This is just selfishness on behalf of the residents and we realize there is little that can practically be done to catch the offenders. We have a small playground close to our home that is like a minefield with dog poo. I have a five-year-old who has stepped in some multiple times. Security has also become somewhat of an issue lately with the mailboxes being robbed and an ipod stolen from my car. The latter was partly due to my negligence as I forgot to lock the car overnight. My message to ESRing is: Stop strong-arming long-term leases and take care of the apartments!
