Facts, no embellishments - an aid for apartment shoppers

Tonight's football scrimmage outside my neighbor's window has inspired me to share some info with the world as I eat a late dinner before going to work. You may be amused by the content of this posting, but read it through...nothing presented here is an unfair or biased description of this community. For a positive presentation and description of Rock Creek Landing please contact the Leasing office and request a tour. The office # is 253.854.1136 - they're nice people, really! Thugs, drugs and big bass sounds abound in this community: You'll be reminded of the irrelevance of (pardon the expression) '-------fabulous-fashion'. You'll be reminded of the smell of marihuana. You'll have an opportunity to memorize the creative vulgarity of hip-hop lyrics - every day (and night). 10:17PM - Car alarm test! These are facts. You'll become familiar with the variety of car alarms in the area also, it's 'hip' to flaunt their operation at all hours. Recently, someone had to have set a record: their car alarm sounding intermittently every 10-15 minutes for 2 days straight - day & night. These are facts. (My perception of the 'hip-ness' thing notwithstanding) Fri/Sat morning 6-29/30, from dusk 'til 4AM partying, fireworks and a drunken fight was everyone's pleasure that lives in this desirable Kent location. It was only the "timely" arrival of the Kent Police that put a lid on it. I was AMAZED to hear a woman warning the brawlers that the cops were on the way: "Stop it you guys...the cops are coming!" Supposedly, mgt has on payroll a 'courtesy patrol' to drive through periodically to gauge noise/parking/loitering violations. I have to scoff at the effectiveness of this patrol and wonder if in the four hour period after midnight they bothered to make even a cursory trip through the community. 10:24PM - Car alarm test! These are facts. Many of us respect, acknowledge and thus celebrate Independence day. Kent allows enjoyment only of the 'safe & sane' variety of fireworks, only between 9A & 11P on July 4th. Apartment communities have the option to legally restrict/prohibit discharge of fireworks altogether. Since early June '07 explosions of firecrackers (sometimes gunshots) have been shared with many residents by 'celebrants'. As I write this, I hear fireworks going off, every few seconds a bottle rocket pops off, a couple or three firecrackers follow....repeat ad nauseum.... it's 10:30PM. This is factual information. Kids are great, don'tcha think? Especially when they play so well together. There are kids in the community that just have outgrown the playground equipment here. Consequently, you will be at risk of colliding with them as they use the parking lots as their play area. Please be careful, our grandkid lives here and DOES use the equipment...don't hit her! I mentioned the daily football scrimmage here outside my neighbor's window - not always football, but whatever it is has resulted in the area where the grass used to be (bldgs DD-EE-FF-GG...if you're deaf, a good choice for an apartment for ya) becoming a muddy area when it rains. I could quote some of the extreme vulgarities that I heard earlier tonight, but they were so extreme (racial, sexual, hateful, violent) that presenting them might lessen the likelihood of the reader taking what I present as being factual. 10:33 - Car alarm test! This information is factual. There are areas that I have not touched on which are relevant...I have to go to work soon, so I will DEFINITELY return and offer more info in future. I've taken care not to be hateful of the community that I have the displeasure of living in. I hope that this information will prove helpful to anyone researching this community. As important and relevant that it might be to the person shopping for an apartment, perhaps the management... 10:36PM - Car alarm test! ...might use it as a tool to adjust their approach, their paradigm in managing what is potentially a really nice place to live.
