Resident 2008 - 2014

11/6/2014

I lived at Swiss Gables for just under 6 years. I got a killer move in special, so that sealed the deal for me. While the move in special helped, the rent consistently was raised over $100/year. Which wouldn't be a big deal if it was worth it. But without the added amenities that other locations offer, it isn't worth the money spent. Yes, it was a gated community, but the gates were usually on the fritz at least 2-3 weeks a month. Either wouldn't open, or wouldn't close. Management was pretty OK. The assistant manager position changed alot, but the Manager Ursula stayed the same throughout the entire time I lived there. The grounds were maintained nicely and maintenance did its best to respond in a timely manner. Overall it was nice, but not worth the amount asked to pay. I do know that the day we moved out, I had about 6-7 different sets of neighbors tell me they were having to move because of the rent prices as well. I also know I found an apartment 3 minutes down the road, for 250$ cheaper, WITH amenities like a gym, pool, tanning, sauna and club house. Swiss Gables did have w/d inside my unit, but so does my new place. Ultimately, its nice, but too overpriced for the area. Its Kent, Not Bellevue. So having Bellevue prices on an apartment that doesn't match market rates doesn't make sense.I lived at Swiss Gables for just under 6 years.
