Asbury Park Apartment Homes

The location is wonderful! Close to shopping, the freeway, and to my work in Bellevue. However, the price you pay for the lack of storage, amenities, and space is quite alarming. We had an exhaustive apartment search back in November and finally settled on this one because it was the nicest we had seen for the location and at the time with the special was affordable. With the special, we're currently paying around $150 under what the regular price is. When our lease renews in August, the price will go up, and we are not looking to renew. While the unit looks super nice from initial glance, the workmanship on the remodel is pretty shoddy. The floors are uneven, some of the "boards" are buckling. The floors are INCREDIBLY noisy. My boyfriend and I are completely conscious of walking around, and we talked to our downstairs neighbors, and they said we're super loud which I believe to be true. Every time our upstairs neighbors walk around, it sounds like the ceiling is going to crash down on us. The whole apartment shakes, and the creaks! Not to mention we know every time they have sex because we can hear the creaking of their bed. Again, shakes the whole bedroom. I know that that you have to expect some noise when living in an apartment, but I've lived in others and have never experienced such noise. We live in a two bed, one bath which faces the greenbelt. It's beautiful back there, but if it's a sunny day, you wouldn't know it because the apartments gets literally NO natural light. The upside is that you get complete privacy since the living room is not facing the parking lot. I usually do not have a problem finding parking close to our building due to the time I get home, but my boyfriend typically does. If you go out at night, good luck finding something close. There's just not enough parking at this location. I wanted an assigned spot, carport, which I got when we first moved in. Well, it was at the other end of the property. I park closer now without the carport that I was paying for. I feel that the carports in front of a specific building should only be available to those that live in that specific building. Makes sense to me. Overall, this isn't a bad place to live. Management and maintenance has been great. It's just too overpriced for shoddy workmanship and lack of space.
