Resident 2019 - 2020

3/16/2020

The apartment itself is amazing. I have the most amazing view of Lake Washington. They renovated the apartment and did a good job. However, I had a few hiccups when I first moved in. First, because they were renovated the apartment, they moved the move-in date more than 3x, I was beyond patient and kind about extending my hotel stay until they could paint. Second, I got the keys on a Friday and Saturday had the moving guys come. I wanted to do the laundry and dishes, but the manager (Ronit) didn't check all appliances were good to go on Friday, so when I emailed and called the after hours number on Saturday, I got a million messages saying that this was "not an emergency" and that I would have to wait until Monday. I couldn't believe it. I had been kind about extending my stays in hotels for them and they couldn't be inconvenience to come over on a Saturday and make sure I could unpack my stuff. Third, they installed a very weak closet rod and then accused me of having too many clothes and to use drawers. Thanks for the advice, but I don't have more clothes than anyone else. They did replace it which was good. Fourth, they rent out garages to people who don't even live here. They don't even offer them to the people who live here. These people are running OfferUp companies out of their garages and making our property cheaper and less safe. Their garages are filled with ----. And we just had a car stolen in the parking lot a few weeks ago. Fifth, this manager speaks to be in a very belittling way and constantly reminds me that "this is not a custom home" whenever I ask for basic apartment necessities. I wanted to purchase a medicine cabinet and have it installed, but apparently Ronit could not believe I would ask for such a request, but after 20+ years renting apartments, I have never purchased a medicine cabinet once. Not once. Yet, I was reminded that this isn't my custom home and therefore they would never purchase a medicine cabinet. Finally, at every opportunity, Ronit offers me out of the lease. I have never been treated so poorly by a property manager. Thank goodness I don't deal with her on a day-to-day basis, but will find someone else to deal with when asking for repairs.
