Resident 2008 - 2010

1/9/2010

We have lived here for 1 year, 6 months. We renewed for another year as it was cheaper than spending the money to move and the place is ok. Parking has never been an issue by our building; not sure about the rest of the complex. We have both quiet and obnoxious neighbors, which is true anywhere. The price listed on the rental websites is very different from what we are paying. For example, a 1 bedroom is currently listed at $770 - $886. We pay close to $1100 after you add on the water/sewer/trash and pet rent. The pet deposit was something like $600 - $300 of it non-refundable - for 1 cat, plus we pay pet rent of $14 every month on top of that. We were told that we could move into another unit upon renewal to get closer to that advertised price, and then a week later, they "changed the policy". Carolyn in the office is always nice to me and I like her, but we have had some issues with another woman losing our rent money. It could happen anywhere, but is frustrating. Make sure to get a receipt! The maintenance guys have been good to us and any issues have been taken care of within 24 hours, much appreciated. It does get very hot in the top floor during the summer since the window and deck door are on the same wall, no air flow. Plan on getting a window air conditioner. Bottom line, this is apartment living. It's not always paradise, but it is much better than many of our previous living situations.
