Management is generally helpful to the extent and limits of their time and funds they have (such as installing security cameras in hallways here which no $ for now). They are/were great at holding packages and providing any type of assistance I needed as well as seemingly taking my issues/concerns seriously, although I did not hear back on many issues in short time. I understand they are very busy and lack enough personnel. Sadly, Weidner has decided not to allow packages to be held in leasing office, so you will not have this service here anymore. You will need to purchase your own box elsewhere or just pick up mail at the USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, or DHL yourself (arrange this). Packages left at doorstep are common though but risky. Decent sized apartment with generally solid walls to keep out noise from immediate neighbors on sides. Fortunately, I don't have any on one side and the other ones are quiet. Not the ones across from me though. Unfortunately, the walls do not block hallway (indoor) noise outside apartment doors. Often, little kids have thumped/ran in the hallways outside my door even though I asked them (repeat offenders from neighbors across from me) many times to stop as it is loud/disturbing in my apartment. It's also against Weidner handbook apartment rules Many notes from management have been sent out about this problem, but no one is held accountable for it or takes these seriously apparently. Most do not follow or pay attention to reminders about other lease violating behavior as well (nothing followed up on-no one held accountable), although I am impressed in this last note/newsletter there was finally some consequences stated for not following the balcony/patio rules (such as hanging laundry on their balconies, having bikes on balconies, junk on balconies, etc.). Those don't affect me much but affect the value/beauty of the apartments which is important for leasing office to focus on for future renters. Great overall maintenance team - usually prompt and provide competent repair. Loud obnoxious unsupervised children running around everywhere- especially in warmer weather. They take over the courtyard and treat it like a playground with parents conveniently holed up inside apartments - rarely seen supervising them. The courtyard is a common area for all, not a playground. Sounds echo very loudly into sliding glass windows during summer. Unpleasant. Very difficult to enjoy balcony facing courtyard with sudden loud screams, yells, shrieks, and squeals blasting my ears. Unpredictable ear shattering and yes, angering noise. Hard to have sound barriers here. Parents are lackadaisical - passive and seemingly lazy. Parenting doesn't seem to exist for these children. Lots of low income seemingly gigantic sized (6 kids on average near me it seems) immigrant families packed into one or two bedroom apartments here. I love diversity with immigrant populations but not the resulting exposure to parasites that migrate with and the culture that supports extremely free range children without responsibility. They do not seem to instill in their children respect for neighbors within earshot and their right to enjoy their apartment without invasive unnecessary rude noise from their very loud children. Place is getting more expensive. Rates going up. Trash fees are a bit high here as well as water fees since multiple fees are included due to large apartment complex. Upkeep is great - green. Well cared for lawns and trees. Unfortunately, the trees lining the highway are being chopped down now though for future Lightrail which took away sound barrier from adjoining highway in BLDG G, beautiful shady trees, and privacy. Watch out for thieves. No cameras here and not very secure. Last Friday, a neighbor (child, children, or/and adults-maybe a family) passing by my apartment door in indoor hallway, stole my previously lost luggage delivered by Alaska airline's courier that he conveniently left outside my door against the wall without phoning me or knocking to let me know it was there. Reported to police and airline. It's one thing to have your luggage lost or stolen, and quite another for a neighbor or neighbors to do this. Cannot trust neighbors. The worst part was the art paintings/drawings I had in a sketchbook in luggage that is now gone and the personal papers. Those are irreplaceable. Someone found one of the credit cards within luggage on the road nearby. It was a volunteered wheeled carryon checkin bag that the airline asked us to check in due to overbooked flight (normally I carry it on). Last time I volunteer for that or rely on airline courier to safely deliver my luggage, esp. in a location like this with questionable neighbors. Three weeks ago, someone also stole a FedEx package of mine left at my doorstep.
